Chapter 60 (1/2)
The closer Jiang Ming got to the ancient temple, the more majestic it looked to Jiang Ming.
Standing in front of the ancient temple, he could not see the top of the ancient temple when he looked up.
In front of the ancient temple, he looked as tiny as an ant. If someone were to look down from the top of the temple, they probably would not even notice Jiang Ming’s existence.
“This is so impressive!”
Looking up at the ancient temple, Jiang Ming exclaimed from the bottom of his heart.
At the same time, he began to observe the ancient temple in front of him.
Located in front of him was a long staircase with hundreds of steps, and each step was more than ten meters tall. There were twelve huge statues on both sides of the stairs. These statues were either squatting, sitting, laying down, smiling, or glaring…
“Are these the twelve demon kings under the command of the demon saint? How imposing!”
Jiang Ming summoned the flight puppets. While flying up the stairs, he looked at the twelve statues of the demon kings around him and exclaimed in awe.
After flying for a few minutes, Jiang Ming finally arrived at the gate of the ancient temple.
The gate of the ancient temple was forged from black ore. It rose about a hundred meters high. At the very top, there was a bronze head with a hideous face and sharp fangs. Just a single glance made Jiang Ming tremble uncontrollably. On the tongue sticking out of the bronze head, three words were carved with vigorous and powerful calligraphy – Demon Saint Temple.
“What the… How could I get in there?”
Jiang Ming walked to the door. Touching the slightly cool door and looking up at the 100-meter-high door, he felt a little helpless.
The door was carved with a pattern of ten thousand demons fighting for the hegemon, but Jiang Ming couldn’t find a way to open this giant black door.
“Should I just push it open?” Jiang Ming mumbled, then he shook his head. “This hundred-meter-high iron door should weigh hundreds of thousands of tons at least. With my current attributes, it won’t even budge when I push it.”
“Hacking the door open?” Jiang Ming shook his head again. “This door has hundreds of millions of HP and hundreds of thousands of defense. My attack won’t cause any damage to it.”
Jiang Ming pondered about many ways to open the huge door, but none of it was workable.
As he was helplessly sitting in front of the gate thinking, he looked up and saw the demon energy surrounding the ancient temple that never seemed to dissipate, and his eyes brightened. He quickly stood up, patted the gate with his hands, and turned on all the special effects on his equipment. Immediately afterwards, he was delighted to find that the death energy emanating from the Reaper’s Scythe and Reaper’s boots had been absorbed by the gate. As the gate absorbed the death energy, it began to tremble.
“Rumble~”
The gate trembled more and more vigorously, and the vibrations caused waves of dust to bounce up the ground. Soon, the two doors began to move slowly inwards, and Jiang Ming could see the dazzling light inside through the crack of the door.
When the door opened up a passage just enough for a person to pass through, he dashed in.
After he entered, the door that had been slowly opening shut again with a loud ‘bang’.
Jiang Ming stood on the first floor of the Demon Saint Temple, looking around curiously.
The first floor of the Demon Saint Temple seemed somewhat similar to the Hall of Supreme Harmony [1], but a thousand times larger.
At the furthest end of the Demon Saint Temple, there was a demon chair made of black gold. At each side of the hall, six tables and chairs made of black gold wood were neatly arranged.
On the demon chair sat a skeleton frame with six heads and twelve arms. On the forehead of the skeleton, a huge horn protruded out, exuding bursts of demonic energy. A pair of bone wings on the back of the skeleton sloped down to the sides of the demon chair. But the most terrifying thing about the scene was that at the chest of this skeletal frame, a huge, pitch-black heart emitting black glow was beating constantly.
On the twelve tables and chairs, only the third chair at the left side sat a corpse. It was the body of a six-winged griffin which was emitting golden light and appeared extremely sacred.
