Skylar was sitting with Lola during lunch-time.They both had got some food and they were eating.
”How was science?” Lola asked.
”It was okay.”
”No boy drama.” Lola probed.
”No much, I mean Jessie was suspicious.”
”About what?”
”Reign and I.”
”Why?” said Lola.
”Well he got in class whilst I was talking to Reign. And he started to ask about Friday because Reign wouldn't tell him what we talked about.”
”How did you get out of it?”
”I just said I was uncomfortable seeing Reign and Karly sucking face during English.”
Lola burst out laughing, ”You are my spirit animal.” Lola's face became thoughtful, ”But what were you and Reign talking about before Jessie came in.”
”Mainly about Friday and Tyler said something weird.”
Skylar saw Lola stiffen, ”What did he say?”
Before she could reply the bell rang and Skylar was more frustrated when she realized that she had to go to English next, which made Lola laugh and she could tell that she had loosened up a bit. They got up.
”Enjoy.” Lola said, trying to hold back the laughter.
”Don't hold back for my sake.”
Lola then let out a bit of laughter. ”Your face is killing me.”
Skylar made her way to English and she was a bit puzzled when she saw Karly standing but the door. Before she could pass her, Karly stopped her.
”New girl, we need to talk.” Karly said, and she motioned for her to follow her. Skylar's heart was beating very fast as she followed her. Why was she nervous? She hadn't done anything wrong.
They got outside, and no-one was there, and they sat by a bench. Karly turned to her and tilted her head. ”What were you and Reign talking about on Friday?”
Alarm bells started to ring on her head. How did she know? Oh, shit did they tell her.
”I don't remember, I was a bit drunk and the whole night was hazy.”
”Don't try to lie new girl. I know that you went outside with him but for what?”
”Why don't you ask your boyfriend?”
”You see, I can't because I would just come off as a psycho.”
But you are one, Skylar thought.
”He was shocked to see me there and we talked about school, I think.”
”I don't think so, New girl.”
”If you don't believe me then why bother asking?”
Karly raised her eyebrow, ”You are in position to tell me that new girl. After going with my boyfriend outside. Alone on top of that. You should be apologizing to me.”
”For what?”
”Who knows what you did.” Karly said.
”Exactly, which is nothing. I told you that I don't want Reign.” Skylar was wondering why she had just doubted her own answer.
”You are testing my patience new girl.”
Skylar saw something dangerous in Karly's eyes, she wasn't in the mood to entertain her. ”Fine, we also talked about Jessie.”
She saw that took Karly aback.
”Jessie?” Karly said, with a confused look on her face, with a mixture of relief.
”Yes, Jessie.”
”Why didn't you say so?” said Karly.
”It's not something that one can just talk about.”
