Chapter 45 - Dissection

When Mu Yi Chu saw the cute girl standing in front of him, he no longer felt as excited as before. It was probably due to the buffer of the night, and he was a bit more ambitious.

Of course, the main reason why Mu Yizhu knew about Bai Zhongyi was that, other than her appearance, the rest of her abilities were completely different from Bai Zhongning's. ”Cinderella, why didn't you tell me when you returned?” An Ningyuan looked at Bai Zhongyi who was holding onto a cup.

”Hehe, I want to surprise Aunt!” Bai Zhongyi smiled sweetly.

”Then what if we return to China? Why didn't you come to find me at the first possible moment but chose to stay in the Police station instead? ”

An Ningyuan skeptically took out his phone from her pocket. She realised that his phone had already been powered off.

”Why did you suddenly decide to come to H City?” An Ningyuan said with an uncertain tone, ”Who did you see in the university? What do you know? ”

”Aunt, what's wrong with you? Why do I feel that you're strange from the moment we met tonight?”

”I …” An Ningyuan didn't know what to say as she looked into Mu Yi Chu's eyes before avoiding her gaze.

Mu Yi Chu drank a cup of lemon tea and said, ”Cinderella, I know you are Bai Zhongyi. I don't want to hide anything from you, but the truth may not be comfortable for you. ”

Bai Zhongyi's eyes were wide open as she looked at Mu Yichu, obviously a little nervous.

”Your mother, Qin Ranpei, is now missing.”

Mu Yi Chu swept his gaze over Bai Zhongyi, and then spoke without giving her time to ask and react: ”Bai Zhongning, or in other words, your sister, had also died about a year ago. Jumping off a building to commit suicide. ”

”Then what about the mother I saw at the Bai Clan? Isn't she my mother, Qin Ranpei? ” Bai Zhongyi said in disbelief.

”You should be looking at your stepmother, Chen Huian.”

Bai Zhongyi lowered her head, immersing herself in the shock of being told the truth, had she thought that the families that were happy even without her, were all her fault? Why?

”Why did my father divorce my mother?” Bai Zhongyi frowned, and spoke with difficulty, ”Is it because of me?”

”Cinderella.” An Ningyuan held Bai Zhongyi's arm, trying to comfort her.

”The only thing I know is what Bai Jingling told me before. After you and Bai Zhongning underwent the body separation surgery, she found out that you died from a medical accident. As for the reason for their divorce, I don't know. ”

Mu Yi Chu ignored An Ningyuan's gaze that was shot at him to stop him from speaking further. Sometimes being kept in the dark is the cruelest thing you can do to a client.

”And how did I — how did my mother get lost?” Bai Zhongyi's tone was already filled with a hint of tears.

Bai Zhongyi sobbed and buried her head into An Ningyuan's shoulder.

”Then why didn't you save her?!” Bai Zhongyi looked up with teary eyes.
