Zhang Meng's face was full of flattering smile. He stepped forward and bowed to the four.

”We're in no position to guide you because you've done such an excellent job.” Shi Kuohai sounded cold, and he said, ”Tell me why you arrested Doctor Qin.”

Cold swear rolled down Zhang Meng's forehead. He trembled and said, ”I'm sorry, head. I am so inefficient and inconsiderate. I won't do they again.”

Zhang Meng's face looked bitter, and he said, ”Head Shi, Doctor Qin isn't in the police station at this moment. He's in the County Crime Squad now.”

Li Changzhi asked with a cold face, ”I thought he was arrested by the police station, so why send him to the crime squad? Does that even conform to the procedure?”

Zhang Meng swept the sweats on his forehead and explained nervously, ”Secretary Li, I... I did it according to director's command. The Deputy Director asked me to send the man there, so I did.”

Shi Kuohai said, ”Don't give me that crap, just take us to the criminal suqad of the county Public Security Bureau.”

”OK... I'll go, I'll go now.”

Zhang Meng got on his car in a hurry and drive in the front. He now regret for not having listened to Qin Haodong's warning. He regretted it so much for having messed up such a bigwig, and he wasn't even sure if he could still stay in his position.

But now it was already too late to regret. His only hope was that he could use Fu Haikun's experience and connection to get away with this. If Fu Haikun could be fine, then so would he.

In the crime squad of Wufeng County, Qin Haodong was cuffed on a iron chair, with two young police in their 20s watching him.

At the moment the door of the interrogation room was opened, a middle-aged man in his 50s walked inside. His cheeks were all red and he smelled winy. It looked like he had just got off from a feast.

He checked Qin Haodong, only to find the young man was not nervous at all. He couldn't be more relaxed, like a guest suiting himself here.

He asked, ”So you're Qin Haodong, the old man Li's grandson?”

Qin Haodong did not answer his question. Instead, he looked up and asked, ”So you're the director of the Public Security Bureau of this county, and Bai Wenjie's brother-in-law?”

Fu Haikun grinned coldly and said, ”Looks like you've known enough. Nobody can mess up with me and get away with it in Wufeng County. Now be smart and answer my questions. I can cut your prison term shorter if I feel happy.”

Qin Haodong smiled and kept saying, ”You really shouldn't have provoked me. You should really keep your brother-in-law in control after the incident, and that's probably the only way that can make you stay in your director position a few years longer. Now that you've brought me here, your career has come to an end.”

”Young man, are you insane?” Fu Haikun nearly lost his mind. He pointed to Qin Haodong and said in anger, ”Now tell me honestly, what did you do to Bai Wenjie? How did you make him mad?”

Qin Haodong said, ”He's fine, not crazy at all.”

”Liar. Why would he pour out all those things you recorded and put on line if he was not insane?”

Qin Haodong smiled and said, ”That's because he better nature asserted itself after my instruction. He realized how ugly his actions were. So he turned himself in.”

”Stop giving me that crap! You treating me like a fool?” Fu Haikun was furious because he realized Qin Haodong was fooling him around. He picked up a baton from the wall and said, ”Young man, looks like you need some sufferings to speak out the truth.”

After he said that, he waved the baton in his hand, and smashed it on Qin Haodong's head.
