1 He is back!! (1/2)

”Hello?”

”You're still on your bed, Yve?!”

”Yes, so what? It is not yet my shift.” I said while looking at my wrist watch.

”Did your forget?! Today, all the employees are required to be here at the office on 10AM PHT. Our new boss is coming.”

”Ohh... Sh**! I forgot. Thanks for telling me. I'll be there quickly.”

”You better be.”

I jump from the bed and look at my watch. It is still 8:30AM. I have 90 minutes before the time. But my workplace is about 30 minutes by private car. I guess I have to use the car again.

By the name, I'm Stella Yvory Smith. People would call me Yve. But if you guys think that I am half Australian like Ann Curtis you are wrong. My mother said that my father is a Filipino. I never met my dad because he died 2 months before I came to earth. Enough about me. You will know me more as the chapters pass by. I need to hurry up.

I went out from my condominium and now in the parking lot starting up my car's engine. I just hope that the traffic is not severe.

As I am driving, might as well describe myself more. I am working as shift supervisor of the customer service department in Cozy Bell Hotel and Resort. I have been working here for a year now. I used to work as a call center agent. I am still paying for this car and my unit so don't think that I am rich. I just love to drown myself in work. WHAT?! Did I just say that?!

Anyway, I can almost see the tall hotel building with its logo. I am almost there and I still have 15 minutes. I think I can make it.

”Thank God, you are here, Yve!”

”Why? What is the rush, Nyelle? We all just have to show ourselves in the hall. Right?”

Meet my friend, Nyelle. She has been with me since high school days. She was the one who recommended this workplace and I am certainly grateful to her. She was there during by break-up and other darkside of my past.

”No! You have to make a speech, Yve. The staff made a votation earlier and majority chose you.”

”WHAT?! What do I have to say? Why me?”

”A Welcome speech, Ms. Smith. And I think most of the employees chose you because many believed that you can do it even on a short notice.

”Mr. Reyes, Sir, Good morning. I am thankful for the compliment but it was really a short notice. I think about 5 minutes left.” I answered as I stole a glance at my watch.

”Well, it could be longer if you weren't late for the meeting time. But I guess, I can forgive you since you were on duty last night. But that is not a valid excuse.”
