249 Edwards Cover-Up 1 (1/2)
Vince received a message from Yve,
”Sorry for leaving early. Did you eat the food I prepared for breakfast?”
He was on his way to his office with Edward driving him. He smiled at the message and replied,
”Yes, I did. I love the Egg Benedict. Thanks. I heard from Sylvan you have an early morning meeting. I hope you ate breakfast too. Love you.”
His message was read by Yve on her way back from the meeting. She smiled at the last words and replied as well.
”I did. Love you, too.”
She also decided to put a kiss mark on the message.
The couple ended their exchange of messages and continued to their respective jobs. Vince arrived at the office and held a meeting immediately to ask for the progress reports. Yve reviewed the scripts she received earlier. Yve was engrossed with reading the script that she failed to notice the time. She was on the 4th script when Sylvan knocked on her door and reminded her that it's time for lunch.
”Young Miss, you need to eat lunch. Mr. Gray is asking for a proof that you have eaten.” Sylvan informed her as the man served her lunch from the cafeteria.
”Okay, thanks for reminding me. I will be sending a picture to him. By the way, after lunch let's head to the school.” Yve instructed the man.
”Yes, Miss.” Sylvan left Yve inside the office to eat her lunch.
Vince, on the other hand, is working while eating lunch as he needs to review the reports he received from Edward regarding Stones Enterprise. He noticed the report on the change interior display project in one of the malls. He called Edward and his cousin went inside his office instantly.
”Ed, what's with this interior display in one of the malls?”
”About that… there is a review by a famous blogger which is also an interior designer which stated that the mall isn't as updated as it was.” Edward began.
”So?”
”At the moment, Stones can't spare money to do immediate improvements. So we were able to come up with re-arranging the item display as well as updating the main display section of the mall.” Edward explained.
”Do you have the report for this project?” Vince asked.
”I have it on my table in my office.” Edward lied.
The truth was that he didn't ask for a written report or progress report on the project as he just gave Yve full control on the project. Now, he has no other choice but to lie and try to stall time in order to get the information from Yve.
”Give me the report then. I'm quite interested in this project. It can save us money and help us make a comeback.” Vince exclaimed.
”Okay. Give me a while to arrange the report.”
”Arrange?”
”Yes…”
”Is it already on the implementing stage?”
”Yes. ”
”Okay, then squeeze it in my schedule today. Let's do a site visit. Give me the arranged report after lunch, okay?” Vince ordered all at once, making Edward sweat. Nevertheless, he has no choice but to answer,
”Got it!”
As soon as he closed the door he called Sylvan to ask for the progress report. Sylvan was driving the car to the school, so he pressed the loud speaker mode and Yve heard the request.
”Why are you asking for the progress report, Edward?”
