Seeing the old Daoist like this, An Gui hurriedly asked, ”Fellow Daoist, could it be that you've already thought of a way to leave?”

The Daoist priest smirked and nodded.

”How do I get out?” I asked quickly.

The old Daoist then said to me, ”Go to that small room and bring out three stools.”

”Huh?” I was stunned for a moment. I didn't know what the old Taoist wanted a stool for, but after reacting to it, I did as I was told. I ran into the house like a rabbit and brought out three stools.

The old Daoist then said, ”Place these three stools against the wall and place them in a row.”

I was even more confused. I didn't know what the old Taoist was up to, but I did.

After the stool was placed down, the old Daoist nodded his head and sat down on the stool in the middle.

He glanced at An Gui and me and said, ”You two should sit down as well.”

Then we sat down on the stools to his left and right.

I sat on a stool and asked, ”Old Taoist, what should we do next?”

The old Daoist said, ”Next up, we'll sit like this.”

”How is this done? You don't have to say anything. ” I rolled my eyes.

The old Daoist said, ”I said, let's just sit like this for now.”

”Ah?!”

An Gui and I almost fell off our stools.

”What are you trying to do in this scam? Don't beat around the bush. Otherwise, I'll kick you!” I was a little displeased. It seemed that this fellow could really act as though he was capable of causing me to want to put his face into the trash can.

After hearing my words, the old Daoist remained calm and only said one word, ”Wait!”

”Wait?” An Gui and I were confused by this fellow again.

”Waiting for what?” ”You're not waiting for the sun to set, are you?”

The old Daoist said, ”Wait for an unforeseen event.”

I said, ”What change?”

The old Daoist said, ”Let's wait for the unforeseen event before we die.”

I was stunned.

Finally, the old Daoist didn't care about words anymore and explained, ”I remember that in my dream, before we died, there would be a great change in the sky. Black flames fell from the sky. These black flames are very strange. They didn't smash us to death, but made us unable to move. We were in extreme pain. Our expressions … ” The old Daoist paused for a moment and then said, ”That black flame must have let us enter an illusion because our expressions were filled with despair and fear. In the end, it died just like that.”

The old Daoist said these words very casually, as if he was talking about something that had nothing to do with him. However, An Gui and I felt our hairs stand on end as we listened to him.

”Then we have to escape quickly!” I shouted as I jumped up from my stool. ”Isn't sitting here just waiting for death?!”

An Gui also stood up and said, ”What Gong Nan said makes sense. We'd better hurry up and think of a way to get out of here. Sitting here is no different from waiting for our deaths!”

However, the old Daoist gave me a disdainful glance and said, ”Are you that afraid of death?”

I started to scold, ”You're not afraid of death, are you? Then why don't you run into a wall!”

However, the old Daoist calmly said, ”I'm afraid I might break that wall.” However, he then explained, ”I have understood the meaning of those two lines, and I have thought of a way to escape from here. If you believe me, then wait here.”

I saw that the old Daoist's brick face didn't seem like he was joking, but he really didn't like his posturing. He sighed and said, ”Why don't you tell me how you did it?”

The old Daoist said, ”There is no other way, there is no other way.” Then he pointed to the front and said, ”What's in front?”

I turned to look at the road ahead. ”A flagstone road,” I said.

The old Daoist immediately broke out in a cold sweat and asked, ”What about the ones by the side of the road?”

An Gui said, ”Two rows of willow trees.”

The old Daoist nodded his head and stretched out a finger. He pointed to a corner and asked, ”What is in that corner?”

I saw a few small yellow flowers the size of a pinky growing in the corner. ”Flowers,” I said.

The old Daoist said, ”Yes. We'll just wait for the moment when it's dark, do you understand now? ” Subsequently, the old Daoist said, ”If you still don't understand, then your IQ can be thrown into the trash can.”

I was immediately unhappy in my heart. Damn, I just don't understand it. Could it be that this' undercover wisdom 'is literally the meaning of the word? However, if the old Taoist were to ask this question, wouldn't that mean that he had indirectly admitted that his IQ was trash?

Alright, let's believe this guy for the time being. If he really wants to screw us over, then we'll all die together.

Thinking this way, I sat down on a stool and said, ”About that, when it's dark and bright, remember to call me. I'll be sleeping first.” With that, I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep.

Actually, what I mean is, f * ck, you don't even know what that is. I might as well just sleep here for a bit!

When An Gui saw me like this, he immediately walked to my side and pulled at my clothes. He whispered, ”Gong Nan, don't tell me you understand what Dao brother means?”

I cursed silently in my heart. These words were obviously an act of mystification, who would understand? But I said flatly, ”Yeah. You will understand if you slowly experience it. ”

Alright, due to considerations of face, I can only feign ignorance and pretend to understand. Otherwise, this old Daoist will definitely use this matter to ridicule me in the future.

”Oh …”

An Gui had no choice but to return to his seat.
