Chapter 638 (1/2)
Vicky McGee came home and thought about things with his eyes open all night. His wife beside his pillow murmured and protested, ”Vic, take a sleeping pill if you can't sleep. It's five o'clock. ”
”Forget it. Sleep.”
He simply got up, went to the refrigerator to get a beer, drank and walked to the garage, hesitated in front of the eldest daughter's car, and finally made up his mind to open the engine compartment, quietly loosen a part, and then went to the kitchen to work.
”It's dad who made breakfast today.”
At breakfast time, the whole family got up, the wife said to a pair of children sitting in front of the table.
The youngest son has a lot of autism. He doesn't talk or react. He just stares at the oatmeal circle in the milk.
”Thank you, daddy.” The little girl with mild symptoms had a good time with a spoon.
Vic squeezed his little daughter's face with a smile, put his ears up and listened to the garage.
”This damn old car!”
Cassidy kept turning the car key, and the car whimpered, but couldn't start.
”I'll go and have a look.”
Vic wiped his mouth and went to the garage. ”Cassidy, what's the matter?”
”The car seems to be broken again.” Cassidy hit the steering wheel. ”I'm going to be late...”
”Leave it. I have a holiday today. I'll repair it for you.”
Vic went to his car. ”Come on, I'll take you to school.”
”OK...”
Katie, get in the car and I'll get it in the evening, too
”No problem. Hey, hey, hey, you still have a class with that nger?”
”No, I'm ahead of him.” Cassidy replied discontentedly, ”can you stop calling me that? Daddy
”OK, OK. I'll be relieved if he doesn't have class with you.”
Vick started the car and began to beat around her words all the way. When she got the people there, she stayed at the University of Chicago, and estimated that it was almost time. She got out of the car and went straight to Sonya's classroom building.
”Mike, come here.”
He showed the police badge to the school security guard and found the old Mike who was wandering in the corridor on a certain floor.
”Mike!” He shrank in the emergency exit and whistled.
”You shouldn't have come here.” Old Mike saw him and said with a straight face.
”Dead old man, you give me respect!”
He was annoyed by old Mike's reaction, but he didn't get tangled. He whispered that Shaun was entangled by the FBI. ”I know the FBI, so I'm going to investigate the old eavesdropping case involving US and your boss at the same time. Moreover, he's targeting Sean, who is rather sloppy If you think about it, there must be something wrong. ”
”The problem is your problem.”
Old Mike rolled his eyes. ”We did what we promised to do. We're not responsible for cleaning your stormtroopers.”
”Hey! What do you mean? Call aplus out and I'll talk to him in person! ” Vic is angry.
”No, Vic. You've been a black cop for so many years. You know the rules.” Old Mike refused.
”Good, good...”
Vick scratched his bald head and turned around for a few times. He confirmed that no one could hear the conversation. ”But you have to tell the boy that besides the FBI, prosecutor Argus, who was in charge of the case of little Lori and Sinaloa, resigned suddenly. I heard that the FBI called him to talk to him before he resigned.”
”The young man who always has a smile on his face?” Asked old Mike.
”Yes, the young man was in charge of the transaction between Barron, the lawyer for little Lori, and the police witness.”
Vick nodded. ”I promise I won't have any problems, but your eyes should also be polished!”
”Well, I'll tell him.” Old Mike nodded.
Vic went down to the car and thought about it. He drove out of Shawn's house and continued to follow.
”Argus? I know that he did come under some pressure from the FBI, and Peter told me that before leaving office, the former state attorney, Charles, submitted a report that specifically noted the role of Argus in the case of little Lori and Sinaloa. ”
