Shen Liangxia shook her head and refused for a simple reason. She didn't want to go out, rather she just stayed at home quietly.
Shen Liangxia did not resist and only closed her eyes. It was clear that this kiss was very comfortable for her, and it was only a few seconds after the kiss ended that she slowly opened her eyes.
His eyes were still empty, his expression blank. Apparently, he was still immersed in that kiss.
Quiet eyes, shiny lips, long eyelashes, her appearance was so adorable it made one's hair stand on end. Xiao Bu Dian really did not want to leave, he really wanted to eat her one bite at a time.
He reached out his hand to stroke his bulging stomach and greeted the third person in the house.
”Be a good girl and don't cause trouble for yourself. Daddy will be back for lunch with you and Mommy.”
With such a childish tone, the steward felt that he had already turned his body away without being able to see it. However, Mr Xiao was not aware of it. He waited for a while longer before leaving.
There was the sound of a car starting up in the yard. Shen Liangxia stood up and walked to the door, but the car had already left. She waved to the car that was gradually disappearing from her sight and whispered, ”Come back early!”
The butler stood behind her, slightly frowning.
Not long after Xiao Yan left, Jiang Nian arrived. She was worried about Shen Liangxia and took advantage of the time before work to come over and take a look.
In the past half month or so, Jiang Nian had always accompanied Shen Liangxia and did not complain at all. This was a really good girl, she was considerate and gentle, her words and actions were not domineering in the slightest, and she would always make people like the spring breeze. Towards such a person, Shen Liangxia's heart was both moved and filled with guilt.
He was moved by her thoughts, and felt guilty for causing trouble for others. On the contrary, he couldn't do anything for others.
Jiang Nian was a few years older than her, but when she heard her words, she rubbed her hair and laughed at her for being a child.
From her point of view, the reason for her good relationship with Shen Liangxia at the beginning couldn't escape the cordial relationship between Chen Jing and Xiao Dian. Later on, she accompanied Shen Liangxia back to his hometown to attend the funeral, partly because Xiao Dian requested it from him cordially, and partly because the child in her eyes was truly pitiful. It was so pitiful that it made one's heart ache. Just like that, she continued to feel heartache. In the end, they couldn't help but treat her as their little sister.
Other than his grandmother and Xiao Dainty, Jiang Nian was truly the best person for her. With the existence of cousins like Shen Rui and Jiang Ying, Jiang Nian was soundlessly considerate and gentle, which naturally made Shen Liangxia enjoy it.
Jiang Nian saw her as her younger sister, but she also saw Jiang Nian as her elder sister.
The two of them stood by the fountain in the courtyard and whispered to each other.
It was just that Jiang Nian had said a lot, while Shen Liangxia had only said a little.
Jiang Nian didn't try to persuade her to relax, let alone talk about scenes like this. She only talked about some random things, about the first time Chen Jing had cooked in the kitchen and burned the electric cooker without adding water, about how she had spent most of her first day in school as an idiot, before finally finding her dorm room. About how he was cheated by Yellow Ox after not getting a ticket at the concert where he went to his idol.
These were all trivial matters. Shen Liangxia listened to her talk about these, and it was like going back to her own college days, the small wall she didn't miss and wouldn't chase the stars, but she was also not a good student when she went for a race with Gu Tide. She knew then that she didn't have much time left, and naturally didn't have any expectations for the future, and the only thing she was worried about was leaving her grandma some money before her life ended.
Grandmother's illness really required money to recuperate.
However, she would rather spend all her money to support it than let her grandmother leave just like that.
In the past half month or so, someone had been trying to persuade her to go with the flow of grief. Now that she was dead, and the living wanted to live better, she still had children, and even if she didn't look at anything else, she still had to look after the child in her belly. She said more about how well you had done, Grandmother.
There were thousands of reasons, and she understood them all. However, knowing the truth didn't mean she could walk out of that dead end.
This is just like when we're walking in a deep forest, and suddenly we see a swamp. Before you fall into it, your mind already has several plans that you can easily jump out of, but when you fall into it, you will realize that all the plans you've thought of before are all bullshit. It's not that easy to escape from that swamp.
This was probably what it meant to be a spectator and see the situation clearly.
As soon as Jiang Nian was about to leave, Shen Liangxia walked her to the main entrance and waited for the car to disappear from her sight again. Only then did she and the housekeeper turn around and slowly walk back.
The servant stood in the doorway and told her that her husband had called.
She nodded and went in to pick up the phone, but she couldn't hear anything. She looked doubtfully at the maid or the butler Uncle walked over and took the phone from her.
”Why isn't he saying anything?” The person on the other end of the line was so nervous that he didn't hear her reply for a long time. He thought that something was wrong.
”It's nothing, I got the phone back.”
The person on the other side of the phone didn't make a sound for a few seconds, followed by a straightforward mockery.
”Cold summer, it's time for you to replenish your brain. I almost drank it into my nose when I was drinking milk yesterday.”
”Huh?” Has this ever happened? She looked surprised.
