Chapter 123 - Swapping out Equipment (1/2)

Out of the 240 pieces of equipment, 35 of them were of the Violet grade. Jiang Fei’s Upgrade Bonus Rate was so high that it was scary to behold. Other Profession players could never reach his level, not even in their dreams!

From the Violet pieces of equipment, Jiang Fei picked out a pair of Crystallized Boots that suited him.

Crystallized Boots [Guard] (Chainmail, Quality: Epic)

Movement Speed +3

Jump +2

Vitality: +10

Block: +15

Equip: Allows you to acquire the skill – Intercept. Immediately rushes to the target, if it is an enemy, causes 50 damage and stuns it for a second. If it is a friendly target, the damage from the next attack would be taken by yourself! Maximum skill range is 30 meters. Cooldown: 5 minutes.

That equipment had a combination of both offense and defense. The skill could be used both to kill an enemy and protect an ally. Most useful traits indeed! With this, Jiang Fei could partially compensate for his mobility issues. Moreover, he could now better defend the Ranged Attackers in his party.

After he handed over the worst 50 Blue grade Crystallized Boots to the Magithieves, Jiang Fei stored the rest in Rosette Knighthood’s storage. Jiang Fei planned to give all of the remaining to Big Brother Bear and the others, not before the Rosette girls helped themselves to stash first. After all, they were his younger brothers. He owed them that much.

The girls from the clan got to pick first for the simple reason that he knew them first, and was thus closer to them. Also, the Boots were Level 25. Most of Rosette Knighthood was already Level 24 as they often went to Dungeons with Jiang Fei, so they would be able to equip it soon. On the other hand, the highest level player in Big Brother Bear’s clan had just only reached Level 23!

After he was done with trading, Jiang Fei was finally free to attend to his personal matters. The materials needed for the Ares’s Set were costly. Jiang Fei had spent more than a thousand gold coins for only five sets of materials. Fortunately, Jiang Fei had money in his pocket now. It would have been troublesome — asking for more loans and throwing pitches for sponsors!

Set equipment came in a bundle. If the crafting is successful, the entire, complete set would appear. Failure resulted in the materials going down the drain, along with an attempt count.

“Fortunately, my Profession gained a level. I have some confidence in my Success Rate and Upgrade Bonus Rate,” Jiang Fei muttered to himself and raised his hammer in the air.

Set equipment always took a long time to make. Moreover, this was a Legendary Grade Recipe. One attempt had taken him an entire ten minutes!

“Ding! Smithing failed!”

“As expected…” Jiang Fei sighed. He had been prepared for it, but having the system notify and ring a bell in your face hurt.

“Ding! You have successfully crafted Ares’ Set!”

“You kidding me?!”

Jiang Fei was overjoyed. Success at only the second attempt!

“Should I continue…” Jiang Fei hesitated. After all, he still had three remaining attempts. If he continued to smith, the chances of failure was high. His luck had to be finite. However, if he stopped crafting now and saved it for later when his Profession level and Success Rate were more favorable, these so-called Legendary Sets would be obsolete and outmoded.

“Forget it! I’m gonna risk it! I’ve bought the materials anyways, if I don’t use them, they’ll just eat up space!”

Jiang Fei made up his mind. He raised his hammer and continued smithing.

“Ding! Smithing failed!”

“Ding! Smithing failed!”

“F*ck me! As expected, I’ve used up all my luck!” Jiang Fei complained.

“Forget it! I’m going all out!” Even though he had failed twice in a row, Jiang Fei was not going to stop. He had turned a blind eye to it. Let’s just get rid of this waste of space, for starters.

“Ding! You have successfully crafted Ares’s Set!”

“Ho. Damn. A second successful craft!” Jiang Fei could not even believe his own eyes! He was really lucky today!
