Chapter 36:Sights On You (2) (1/2)
Su Feng had a meeting with an heiress; forced by her father as a term to join the company. He knew that she fancied him, but he hoped that a casual dinner would do well to appease them. He did not expect the heiress to pull a move on him. And in the middle of it, Song Ren had entered the room.
He chased after her immediately, not sparing the technician's daughter nor his secretary. He ran after to her, and when Song Ren entered the elevator, he stopped the doors from closing. He held them apart, panting breathlessly. But she wasn't looking at him.
Song Ren's face was cold and her eyes were distant. She looked past Su Feng where Xia Lanfen stood next to the wealthy woman. Her eyes met Su Feng's secretary, shooting her a sharp look of disdain. Impulsively, Song Ren pulled Su Feng forward by his collar, turning him sideways, grazing his lips with hers passionately as the elevator shaft closed, leaving the two women dumbfounded.
Su Feng was momentarily shocked. His eyes widened, and his lips parted open. It took a few seconds to meet the kiss with equal passion.
When she let go of his collar, Su Feng grabbed one of her wrists gently and dominated the kiss. Song Ren protested but he did not let go of her. When Song Ren saw the girl on his lap, she could not help but feel agitated. She was angry, but she was not sure whom she was angry with.
In the midst of their kissing, Song Ren bit his lip and kneed him near the groin. Su Feng staggered back, his face flushed, his teeth clenched with desire. He looked so adorable that Song Ren almost forgave him on the spot.
The elevator shaft opened and she walked away coolly, leaving Su Feng behind. He followed her into the lobby. When she tried to leave, he pulled her by the wrist into a private room that was opened by his card key. She twirled to face him when he pushed her against a wall. The lights of the room were dim. His lips were red with a bit of a swell, and she was embarrassed for doing that to him. But her face remained stoic in front of his eyes.
He blocked her by placing her between his arms, his face inched toward her. Song Ren's expression did not change, resigning and devoid of emotion.
”Why did you come here?” he asked. His eyes gazing at her lips.
”I came to visit you,” she said nonchalantly.
”Why?” he breathed. His eyes almost pierced through her, it was full of want and unfinished desire. She wondered when did he start looking at her like that?
She stepped closer, teasing him with how close they were. She knew he would not dare to make a move as she earlier expressed what would happen if he did.
”I wanted to see you,” she admitted calmly, ”but then I saw a woman on your lap and felt that you didn't really need my company. Hmm, it's a shame.”
Su Feng gritted his teeth, ”I am not with her; I did not expect her to pull a move on me,” he said.
Su Feng missed her. It had only been a week, but he wanted to grant Song Ren some space, and he still couldn't accept how he felt about her. In school, they were enemies. He did not like her; he loathed her. But when he noticed the flash of hurt in her eyes when she saw him, he knew that it something great and deep. He did love her, he realized before and now. He always thought about marriage as something political, and now that there may be love possibly involved, he was afraid.
Su Feng inched closer to her face, ”I only have my sights on you,” he admitted with confidence. He was afraid of pushing her over the edge. He did not want to lose her before he even had the chance to have her. He knew he was a bastard. He was afraid of his feelings, but he did not realize he was hurting Song Ren in the process. He hung his head low.
”Oh?” she said, ”but I knew that already.”
Su Feng glanced up at her, ”What?” he asked.
