Chapter 43 (1/2)

It was Monday, a new start for another week. Cheng Nuo was humming a tune as he slowly cycled towards the school.

The other night at the pool hall, Cheng Nuo had signed a series of unequal treaties with Husky under Wang Danian’s protection.

In short, whenever Cheng Nuo was in trouble, Husky and his subordinates had to come to his rescue once they had received Cheng Nuo’s call for help. Furthermore, they had to promptly deliver whatever food that Cheng Nuo wanted to eat. It seemed like the Husky Gang had become Cheng Nuo’s personal maids.

As for Gao Yuan, he was rather unfortunate.

He had joined the Husky Gang hoping that they could help him contend with Cheng Nuo and Lin Hu. However, it was completely beyond his expectations that he had ended up becoming Cheng Nuo’s minion.

“That’s… utterly unfair!” Gao Yuan thought bitterly. He couldn’t even complain to anyone about this.

“Yo~ Descendants of the mountains love the sun…”

Having been in a good mood, Cheng Nuo hummed the old song all the way till he reached the school.

When he entered the bicycle parking station, he saw Mu Leng and Xiaoxiao, who were locking their bikes.

“Morning, beauties!” Cheng Nuo waved at them, grinning.

“Hm.” Mu Leng replied to him with a cold glance and nodded lightly.

“Cheng Nuo?” Xiaoxiao’s eyes brightened up. She bounded towards Cheng Nuo and looked at him with her bright, piercing eyes.

Then she reached out her fair, tiny hands, looking up at Cheng Nuo expectantly.

“Yes?” Cheng Nuo was confused.

“What… is she doing?”

Xiaoxiao seemed disappointed at Cheng Nuo’s reaction.

“Hmph, Cheng Nuo, didn’t you promise to bring me snacks today? I want dried fruits, chips, pistachios, melon seeds, spicy strips[1]…” Xiaoxiao counted on her fingers and complained.

It was only then that Cheng Nuo remembered the “promise” that Xiaoxiao had mentioned.

After the basketball match last Friday, Xiaoxiao had dragged Mu Leng along to look for Cheng Nuo, hoping that Cheng Nuo would treat them again.

Cheng Nuo looked at the two pretty, young girls and then at the 300 Yuan left in his wallet.

As a tall, young man, Cheng Nuo finally yielded to the appeal of money. He cruelly rejected the two beauties’ invitation, but he had agreed to bring Xiaoxiao some snacks on Monday.

Having been questioned by Xiaoxiao, Cheng Nuo scratched his head and smiled awkwardly. “Haha, Xiaoxiao, of course I remember the promise! It’s very important! Don’t worry. I’ve ordered a delivery for you and it should arrive in no time. Please give me a minute. I’ll make a call right away and ask them to deliver it faster.”

After that, Cheng Nuo walked to the side and dialed the number he had just gotten last week.

“Husky, I’ll have to count on you today!”

“Freak you, who are you? How dare you disrupt your Big Brother Dog’s sweet dreams!”

The call was answered at once. Apparently, Husky had been sleeping.

“Hey, Big Brother Dog! It’s me, Cheng Nuo! Good morning!”

“Cheng Nuo? It’s you! What’s the matter?”

Husky had paused for three seconds before he finally recalled who Cheng Nuo was, because he had tried so hard to forget this name that had brought so much unhappiness to him.

He felt that he had lost all his face that night!

“What do you mean, Big Brother Dog? Am I not allowed to call you if it’s not for business purposes? Today is April 26th, 219 days till New Year. So I called you just to wish you a happy new year in advance!”

Husky was speechless.

“Well, actually, Big Brother Dog, I have something else to ask you other than new year wishes.”

Husky snapped. “Say it!”
