Chapter 44: He Rushed Madly Into… (2/2)
When Zhishu He opened his eyes again, it was dark. Zhishu He was not quite clear-minded, sitting there straightly and dizzily.
The man next to him was still driving. Zhihu He couldn’t see the look on his face. When he looked back, Er Gou slept soundly with the cats in its arms.
“You must be tired of sitting upright all the way. I'll take you for a walk at the next rest station.” Ziyu Ai said and turned on the radio for a very soothing piano song.
“You must be more tired than me. You've been driving for so long a time. We can have something to eat and have a rest later. We just go out for relax, so we don’t need to rush to get there.”
Ziyu Ai smiled and said, “Are you caring about me?”
“No one else is sitting here except you.” What Zhishu He said, which was quite normal originally, was full of special meaning now with Ziyu Ai’s explanation of the simple five words. So even Zhishu He himself felt embarrassed now, “You’d better drive well.”
Everything went smoothly with Wenxu Jiang in signing the contract. But he kept thinking about Zhishu He since he went out. He had been in a trance all day, with his heart aching dumbly. Even he just wanted to give up the contract and go home to make sure whether Zhishu He was fine.
So he returned home early in the evening and bought a lot of food. He even spared some time to ask Assistant Song to make an appointment at the jewelry store. Tomorrow, he would take Zhishu He to customize a couple of new rings. In the future, they could have a good time, accompanied by each other, rather than thinking about other trifles.
The moment Wenxu Jiang opened the door, he found it weird. The room was black and quiet. He turned on the light, only to find Zhishu He not at home.
Even the cats were gone.
If only Zhishu He wasn’t at home, Wenxu Jiang would not be so panic. He could wait for his back. Even if Zhishu He went out and messed with his friends, Wenxu Jiang could wait with a gentle attitude which he had never had before, just as Zhishu He had done for him in the countless nights. But the cats disappeared.
Wenxu Jiang knew how much Zhishu He loved those cats, so he would never give them away or abandon them.
As soon as he was thinking of all possibilities, he felt chilly all over his body. Then, he shivered while recalling the strange attitude of Zhishu He recently.
Zhishu He left.
There was no omen or foreshadowing. Zhishu He had not mentioned anything about leaving in countless quarrels or taken it as a threat even after knowing that Wenxu Jiang had other lovers.
Instead, Zhishu He was usually gentle, humble and mild, even having no complaints. But it was such a person who left silently.
Finally, Wenxu Jiang made some responses that he should have. He rushed madly into the bedroom, then the guest room, the study room, and everywhere else in the house.
There was no loss of big stuff, but Wenxu Jiang still knew that the bank card and one of Zhishu He’s favorite coats were taken away.
