1120 Tengu Serves Me Tea (1/2)

Demonic Fox's knowledge of the Tenshou was limited but Chen Xiaobei had done his homework beforehand.

This young man nicknamed Tengu became Tenshou's direct disciple one year before Phantom Rain.

If Tenshou had not discovered Phantom Rain, the person he would have sent to North Wilderness Starfield was this Tengu.

And because of that, Tengu's cultivation was only in the later phase of True Nirvana stage, far beneath Phantom Rain's.

But this young man was mentally strong, he did not get upset over this missed opportunity.

Moreover, he did not pull faces or throw tantrums even though he was stuck serving guests and pouring tea all day long.

Phantom Rain went to North Wilderness Starfield for a good ten years and this young man had to stay back, doing all the menial house chores.

”Sifu is waiting in the main hall for you. Please come with me.”

Tengu smiled warmly, moving gracefully.

Chen Xioabei smiled back at him and along with Demonic Fox, followed him into the Tenshou Mansion.

”Little Fox, don't you think that there's something off about this person?”

Chen Xiaobei used Thousand Whisper Knots to communicate telepathically with Demonic Fox.

”Yeah! Nurture develops character. After being around the Tenshou for so long, he doesn't seem to be affected by Tenshou's evil tendencies! In fact, he's very gentle and graceful. He has a gorgeous face and his eyes are clear. He has this delicate and muted feel about him, giving the impression that he's benevolent. That's really strange!”

Demonic Fox's name really reflected who she was. Not only was she bewitching and charming like a fox, she also had the intelligence and the instincts of one.

”Good. Be wary of him. He's not who he appears to be!” Chen Xiaobei warned.

...

The interior of the Tenshou Mansion was a medley of lavishness.

Jade was used as bricks, gold as lighting, stained glass as roof tiles, pearls and corals as ornaments—every item in the room was ornate.

”This old bastard really does know how to enjoy himself!” Demonic Fox sniffed.

”These are actually expected for someone of his level. You have to control your emotion. Try not to blow your cover later!”

”Excuse me? Why would I blow it? Did you even consider the fact that I've survived for 18 years because of my amazing acting skills? You are the one who should be careful not to give the game away!”

”I don't think you know that I'm actually a professional actor!” Chen Xiaobei smiled. ”China's top film director Feng Yaolun said that my movie will be screened in Europe and America somewhere in the next half of the year! He said that there's a chance it'll get an Oscar. Becoming the best actor with just one film!”

”I know that you are the main male protagonist of 'Ling Yue the Heroine'. It was released in Japan and was quite a hit for a while!”

”Hehe, right now, you are the female protagonist, I am the male protagonist and let's give this old bastard the show of his life!”

Chen Xiaobei grinned widely.

...

The luxurious embellishments and furnishing did not continue to the main hall, which was washed in black.

Black jade tiles, black metal throne, and instead of bulbs, the room was lit up with a few dragon palace lanterns.

Stepping into the hall gave off the feeling of going back in time to the hall of ancient kings. A solemn, imposing atmosphere filled every corner of the room.

”Greetings Tenshou God!”

Chen Xiaobei and Demonic Fox bowed to the man seated on the black throne. The show had begun.

The white-haired old man was more than a century old but he gave off an aura that was more vigorous than a healthy young man's.
