20 Awaken (1/2)

SEAN LOCKHART

It must be hard to live in this kind of world. I often thought about that. I'm tired also, to live. But I continued my life for those people who still want me to be alive.

I looked at Aviana and she's still peacefully sleeping. She was put on a coma because she was shot near the heart. A lot of blood was taken from her. Hence, is that the reason why she's still not waking up? Maybe she just purposely stayed like this because she doesn't want to know the reality. She still doesn't want to accept those awful things that happened to her. Realizing that, I pity her more. I came near her and her eyes were still shut.

”When will you wake up?” I asked and held her hand as I stared at her face. She looks paler than before. Is she dreaming while she's sleeping? What is she dreaming about? Is it even a dream? It could be a nightmare, she's sweating like crazy.

”You've been resting for too long. It's time to wake up now.” I said smiling at her. I don't know why but my heart aches to see her at this state.

”A year had already passed,” I said and paused. I wonder if Ace is doing fine?

FLASHBACK

I stood up when I heard Ace called for Ava. I was in shock when I saw Ava standing here alive. However, I was more surprised when I saw Aviana there. I shivered when I saw those eyes again. Those terrifying eyes of a demon.

”Pathetic.” Aviana suddenly stated. She might have guessed why Ava is still alive.

”Grandchild, kill her.” Mr. De Lave suddenly stated. Is she going to kill her? I looked at Ava and she's just seriously staring at Aviana. She's going to do it. I looked at Ace and he's now looking at me.

”Where?” He suddenly asked pointing his head. I was confused by his question. What is he asking? But a second later my eyes widened realizing what it is. I smiled sadly as an answer. Is he going to do it?

”I should do it,” I whispered but he shook his head. I had no choice but to point the part of my head where he can shoot himself. He can't die but, in the end, he won't remember anything after this.

”Ava. Get your brother.” Mr. De Lave suddenly shouted.

”Ace.” Ava suddenly called. He will do it now. No. I should stop him, right? I should? I was surprised when he looked at Aviana. He will finally do it.

*Bang*

The gunshot rang out all over the place. I looked at Aviana and she was also shot. I immediately looked at Ava. She shot her.

”See you soon,” Aviana said to me. The next thing I know is that she was falling to the grounds so I ran immediately to catch her.

”Don't die.” I pleaded but she just smiled at me.

”I'm tired.” She stated. She's having a hard time to breathe. I tried to undress her for her to breath and to see the wound but I stopped when she spoke again that made me looked at her who's still smiling but crying.

”Very tired.” She added.

END OF FLASHBACK

He should be better, now right? I again looked at Aviana. Her hair looks so long, now that years had already gone by. I wonder if I should cut it? I walk towards the cabinet near the windows and get a scissor. When I came back towards her. The scissors that I'm holding suddenly slipped through my hand when I saw Aviana standing, looking at me with those deadly eyes. She's awake now. I was trembling in fear but I don't have the time to be afraid of her. She needs my help but I should be careful too.

”A-Aviana,” I called. She finally snapped out of reality. She suddenly touched her chest. I think it hurts. I ran towards her and helped her to bring her back to bed. She's been resting for too long so I'm not anymore surprised by the way she's acting right now. She feels weak.

”Don't move yet,” I stated. She just stared at me.

”Is he dead?” She asked out of a sudden. Should I tell her the truth? If I tell her the truth that could help her recovery. Right?

”N-no,” I said and smiled awkwardly. I'm still not used to talking to her. She sighed in relief. She closed her eyes as her tears continued to fall. She finally woke up but she cried again. Hence, she's crying because she's happy and that's good.

”My parents?” She asked. I looked at her thinking. She's still crying while looking at the floor. I sighed before answering.

”They are gone,” I said. I noticed her stiffen.

”I took care of their bodies. If you want to visit their graves just let me know.” I said and smiled at her. She just nodded as an answer without looking at me.

”I'll be taking care of you now. If you want me to go away I won't.” I said and so she looked at me. I was surprised when she suddenly smiled at me. That's new to me.

”I-I should tell the doctor,” I said and nervously get my phone from my pocket but she stopped me from doing so.

”Why?” I asked, confused by her actions.

”I'm alright no need to call them.” She said.

”They should know so we can know if there's still something wrong about you. Although your wound is perfectly healed it still hurts right? And you've been in a coma for a year now.” I explained but she just smiled at me. Somehow, I feel like she is a different person. Hence, I haven't met her and talked to her for this long so I might have known her wrong.

”I-I should go out right?” I asked and she just nodded at me. I breathed heavily when I finally got out of the room. I touched my chest and it's pounding fast. Damn what the hell is happening to me? I feel crazy?

”Young Master, the reporters are here again,” Belinda said when she saw me coming down the stairs. I had left the entertainment industry since the day I was announced as the new boss of the Lockhart family. However, the world now in the mafia is at war. Everyone is dead except for those who had the chance to escape including us. Mr. De Lave didn't win this war. It's just getting started.

I miss singing though. I sat down the sofa reminiscing the days when I was still singing and holding my guitar. I didn't even realize that I fell asleep.
