Chapter 156 - May I Kiss You? (1/2)
The young leading lady’s acting skills had suddenly improved by leaps and bounds after having the privilege of personal attention from the producer.
But it was a different story for the Best Actor candidate Pei Zhen.
His face was flushed, and his heart was pounding. Unless he had superb acting skills, there was no way he could act broken-hearted under the circumstance.
The filming went more smoothly than expected, and the Director called it a day before midnight.
Pei Zhen removed his makeup and changed out of his filming clothes. By the time he stepped out, Fu Sichen was the only person left—waiting for him.
“Eh?” Pei Zhen looked around and saw no sign of Xiao Nian. “Where’s my son, has he gone to get the car?”
“He was too tired.” Fu Sichen’s expression was gentle. “He said he had trouble staying awake and I asked him to go home.”
“Tsk.” Pei Zhen was annoyed and rolled his eyes. “Was he working? Tired my ass.”
If Xiao Nian were present, he would have kicked up a scene.
He would’ve sworn that he wasn’t playing truant and that it was Fu Sichen who insisted that he went home!
Without the gooseberry, Fu Sichen was feeling exceptionally amorous. He opened the passenger seat door for Pei Zhen before he walked around to get into the driver seat.
With a turn of the key, Fu Sichen started up the car engine. “Home?”
Pei Zhen sat back languidly like a cat with no bones, his long limbs relaxed and extended. He shut his eyes and muttered, “Okay.”
“Okay.” Fu Sichen laughed and stepped on the accelerator.
As the car sped through the darkened surroundings, he felt, for once, that the road home wasn’t so long.
The public roads were quiet in the wee hours, and it gave Fu Sichen an added opportunity to look at the man beside him every so often.
He had peach blossom eyes and a high nose bridge, and he lightly pursed his lips. As the car sped along, the light from the street lamps washed over him, highlighting his handsome face.
He was like a picture.
