140 Chapter 140: Flirted Him (1/2)

Laurence looked at the mass amounts of comments that people were writing against him, and he could not help but frown. The public had spoken, and they had found him guilty. His daughter, Khloe, was with him, and she tried to comfort him. ”Daddy,” she said, ”don't be sad. I'll be with you, no matter what.” She pretended that she cares for him.

”Khloe,” Laurence replied, ”you will always be my sweet bean. Unlike Kylie, that rebellious daughter----”

Suddenly, Laurence could not speak. His heart sped up, and his face turned red. He hardly breathed.

Khloe hastily opened the drawer and took out his medicine bottle. She poured out two tablets, stuffed them into his mouth, and poured a glass of water for him. Once he had the medicine in him, he began to recover gradually. He leaned against the chair and, looking very tired, said, ”I'll be angry until the day I die…”

”Dad,” Khloe replied, ”don't be angry. Why don't I call Kylie and see if I can't convince her to stop this assault on you, me, and Garcia Entertainment?” She told Laurence, hoping that this old man will be going to agree.

”She won't listen to you,” Laurence sighed. ”I'll make the call. Let me see if I can't make her see reason…”

Khloe dialed Kylie's number and handed the receiver to her father. She stood behind him and massaged his shoulders while he waited for her sister to pick up. Once she did, she asked his daughter what reason she had to be so malicious without exchanging any pleasantries. He asked her, ”Are you trying to kill your old man?” His voice was full of resentment and giving Kylie no time to answer him ethically.

”You were the one who led us to this place,” Kylie calmly replied. ”You forced my hand. What did you expect would happen?”

”Kylie,” Laurence cried, ”If you keep making trouble, Garcia Entertainment will be ruined, and you too will suffer, or did you forget that you also hold shares in the company?” He tried to condemn his daughter by mentioning her shares in their company.

”Compared to what you did to me,” Kylie snared, ”losing money is nothing. And besides, I have enough money as it is. But you're right; I am one of the shareholders, so how about this: If you terminate Khloe's employment, I will make all of this fade as quickly as possible,”

”I suppose that has been your goal all along,” Laurence sighed, ”but I would never do that.” He can't let Khloe suffer.

”We'll see,” Kylie laughed as she hung up the phone. She pulled on a sweater and went to stand on the balcony. Looking out at the lawn, she saw a man sitting on the branch of a tree not far from her window. It was Ethan, and the sight of him made her chuckle. No doubt, if he fell, it would hurt something wicked.

”Are you a monkey?” she called out to him as he jumped from the tree to her balcony. Smiling, he wrapped her in his arms and whispered into her ear, ”I feel so inspired!”

”To do what,” she teased him, ”write poetry?”
