338 Chapter 338: You’ll Never Know (1/2)
Stephen didn't expect Kylie saw right through him.
”Kylie...” He clasped her hands. ”You...” Since she already knew it now, who would she choose?
Kylie took his hands and looked at him with sincerity. ”Star, when I needed friends most, it was you who kept my company. And you're in a difficult time now, so I must stay by your side till you find your love.”
Stephen nodded heavily and looked gentle.
Kylie felt she had never been so relaxed after being so honest with Stephen, so she soon fell into a deep sleep after lying for a while longer.
When she woke up, she saw a circle of gauze wrapped around the busy housekeeper's wrist in the kitchen.
It must be the wound he had got in Stephen's room.
”Hi, may I help?” Kylie walked to the kitchen.
The housekeeper was a little surprised. Although the kitchen knife was handed over to Kylie, he still stood at the door of the kitchen.
”Cut it to small pieces, so they'll taste better,” the housekeeper said with an expressionless face.
”Are these small enough?” Kylie asked while she was chopping.
”Yes, don't put too much pepper... Just a little of it is enough... the water isn't hot enough...”
Kylie stopped and turned to look at the housekeeper. ”If you continue to do that, I'll think you're actually a nanny.”
How can he, a grown-up man, be more careful than a woman!
The housekeeper's forever expressionless face was struck dumb for a second, then he turned to walk outside, but his sight still fell on Kylie.
”Don't worry. I won't drug the food, because I'm going to eat them too,” Kylie said. She didn't bother to look back, because she knew the housekeeper was standing behind her.
”Are you sure you won't leave Lord Stephen?” the housekeeper asked quietly.
Kylie turned around with a kitchen knife in her hand, then made a stroke in the air. ”If your young master finds his beloved woman, he'll chase me away. Ha-ha.”
”He won't,” the housekeeper quickly replied. ”Lord Stephen won't like anyone else. You're his first and last beloved woman.”
”You'll never know.” Kylie turned back to her busy work in the kitchen, and said, ”He's so obsessed with me, maybe exactly because it's his first love. Haven't you heard of it? First love never ends well.” After saying that, she put the chopped vegetables into the pot.
However, the vegetables were too hydrated, and some hot water splashed out at once, which scared her off.
The spatula also fell to the ground, jingling for a while.
The housekeeper sighed, then pushed Kylie out of the kitchen.
”Do you want to blow up the kitchen?” The housekeeper picked up the spatula and cleaned it.
The two walked on the cobblestone trail, and Kylie asked all of a sudden, ”Is this hotel your family business?”
Stephen glanced at the skyscraper, then nodded. ”Kinda.”
”Why do you study medicine, while your family is involved in the business?” Kylie asked.
Such a family generally would choose a management course for their children when they went to study in colleges, but Stephen majored in medicine.
Stephen remained silent for a while before he opened his mouth again, ”Because of my mother.”
Kylie's steps stopped for a second.
Stephen looked up at the less glaring sun and smiled, ”I am an adopted child of the Cecil family.”
There was something flashing through Kylie's mind, but she couldn't catch it quickly.
