421 Chapter 421: I Don’t Allow You To Die (1/2)
”Mom, it won't threaten your life if you donate some blood in the hospital.” Nate held his mother's hand. ”Please, just a little of your blood, and it can save Fannie's life!”
Mrs. Bass was displeased, and there was a sneer on her lips. ”What? You start to care about Fannie now?”
”No, I don't!” Nate denied it at once and seemed determined. ”Once she's cured, I'll arrange a marriage for her. I promise I won't contact her again the moment she's married.”
”What if she contacts you?” Mrs. Bass asked with a calm face.
”I-I can get married too, and I can move abroad!” Nate clenched his teeth and made a hard decision. ”Mom, as long as you're willing to save her life, I can do whatever you want me to do.”
Mrs. Bass, however, got rid of Nate's hand and turned to sit by the bedside. ”You care about her so much right now. Are you still willing to see me use her blood to extend my life in the future?”
Nate felt cornered and said, ”Mom, if Fannie can't survive today, you won't see your son again!” After that, he slammed the door and left.
Hearing that, Mrs. Bass frowned. She wanted to stop Nate, but he already disappeared from her sight, and she heard the car engine roaring away.
The Knight XV had an abrupt halt and stopped by the road.
Annie's smiling face kept flashing by his eyes, and the last question Fannie had asked him sounded again by his ears.
Do you like me?
Yes. Yes, I do!
He and Fannie grew up together, and he even had promised to marry Fannie in the future when they were just kids.
However, as time went by, he found out Fannie wasn't just an adopted kid in his family but was also his mother's moving blood bag.
During the past years, Nate had taken great care of his mother and protected her from doing any dangerous things to avoid the recurrence of his mother's hemophilia.
It was a very strange life-threatening genetic disease. If the person who suffered from that disease had a wound on his or her body, he or she would lose three times more blood than ordinary people within a short time.
When his mother found out Fannie's mother had the same blood type as she, his mother kept Fannie's mother by her side and regularly drew off her blood for storage.
His mother had prepared for three whole years before getting pregnant.
Even though his mother still had risked her life to give birth to him.
Nate didn't know his mother's health condition when he was very young and insisted his mother should go climb a mountain with him once.
Unexpectedly, they encountered a landslide, and his mother was damaged by a stone, and her leg kept bleeding.
At that time, Fannie was only seven years old, and her mother laid down her precious life for his mother.
When Nate raised his head again, his eyes were bloodshot.
”How much do you need? We can contact you later once we get some,” a man said with a smile on the phone.
”I need it right now! Give me as much as you can provide!” Nate yelled at him.
”It's very rare blood. I'm afraid we can't provide you right away even though you offer a sky-high price,” the man said. ”Why don't you leave us a number and we'll contact you once we get some.”
Hearing that, Nate said a dirty word, then hung it up.
A while later, his phone rang again. Nate answered it and swore again. ”F*ck off, if you can't provide the blood for me right now!”
”Nate?” Mrs. Bass's voice sounded on the phone.
”Mom...” Nate was surprised.
