William laid the gavel at once. ”Sold! Congratulations to this lady!”
Thunderous applause sounded offstage till the lady stepped on the stage. She took a photo with Kylie's drawing, then went to finish the rest procedures with a staff member.
”Isn't she your people?” Kylie asked Ethan.
”Be confident about yourself.” Ethan looked at her with a pair of tender eyes.
Kylie kissed his cheek. ”You're the real painter of that drawing. If nobody wants to buy it, you're the one who'll be embarrassed.”
Fannie stood up in excitement at this moment. ”I need to have a look and arrange some reporters to report this news!”
”I'll go with you,” Kylie said, standing up. ”I should show up since she already bought my drawing.”
Ethan nodded and reminded her to be careful.
Ethan didn't dial a number until both Kylie and Fannie were out of the private room. ”Kylie is going to meet her. Go have a check.”
”Yes, sir.” Elliot hung up the call and walked backstage.
The woman was also talking to someone on the phone at this time. She signed on the document and kept nodding. ”Yes, I just bought it.”
Kylie and Fannie walked towards her from another side. Kylie smiled at her. ”Miss, thank you so much for buying my drawing.”
The woman didn't hang up her call and said to Kylie, ”My boss loves your drawing very much.”
”Your boss?” Kylie was surprised. ”Can I meet him? May I thank him in person?” The woman glanced at Kylie from head to toe. ”I'm sorry my boss is very busy, and I'm afraid he can't meet you.”
From the woman's behavior, Kylie understood she must be talking with her boss on the phone right now.
Therefore, she pointed at the phone in the woman's hand. ”May I talk to him for a short while?”
”Sorry.” The woman turned Kylie down without hesitation.
Kylie felt a little embarrassed. ”Um, well, please help me pass on my thanks to your boss. In fact, my drawing isn't worth that much money.”
There was a faint smile on the woman's lips. She said to Kylie, ”My boss said that he buys your drawing to support your charity fund, and he also feels honored to own your drawing because you're a very kind good girl.”
Before Kylie could say anything else, the woman checked the time. ”I'm sorry, I gotta go now.” After that, she left at once.
Fannie walked over and pulled Kylie's arm. ”Hey, don't you think the woman and her boss are very strange?”
Kylie turned to ask the staff member, ”What's their buyer's name?”
”Um, the woman said she bought a drawing of the night sky, so she left the word 'star' in the space of the buyer,” the staff member said.
Hearing that, Kylie was shocked.
As long as there was a billing record, she could find out the buyer's identity.
She always had a feeling that Stephen was still alive. It seemed to be true now.
However, the staff member said to her after checking the payment, ”The buyer paid with a bank account from Switzerland, and the identity information is kept secret.”
Kylie clenched her fists, trying to calm herself down.
Fannie patted her shoulder. ”Don't worry, we can turn to Ethan for help.”
