12 Chapter 12: Surprise turn of events (1/2)
Everyone laughed as they watched Usui finish chanting his spell. Everyone was curious to know what spell he cast.
No one saw any changes and one by one, people started to laugh, ” Look at him... he was chanting something but nothing happened.”
And then it happened, all they saw was Jinha staring at an empty space before being wrapped inside a dark ball.
Freya studied the formation with surprise, ”Third-degree formation.”
There were three kinds of masters: Mana users are users who use mana around them to influence the four elements - earth, wind, fire and water. Beast tamers are people who tame mana beasts and Formation masters are users who master arrays.
Being skilled in formations would already be considered a genius as only a few people have an affinity towards it. And, being a third-degree formation master at this age shows his abilities.
Zeno asked in shock, ”Third-degree formation. Wait he was a formation master?”
He sighed,' No wonder he's called a genius. He might be a difficult one for Jinha.'
Freya frowned,” Hmm... I'm sure he would escape the formation but....”
They looked at her worriedly, as she sighed, ” I don't know how he will turn up after escaping the formation.”
Usui heaved a sigh as he finished placing the formation, he panted as it was his first time trying to place a formation during the battle, it took half of his energy to focus on the dots to connect the formation. He knew he won this battle as soon as Jinha got trapped.
He shifted his gaze at her while panting slightly and to his surprise, found her staring at him with narrowed eyes. For a second, he thought she saw through his powers but then, shook it off. 'That's impossible.'
He placed his hand around his waist where Jinha had kicked him earlier and dragged his body back to the bench.
He started walking back to Rin tiredly and as he looked at the little prince, he could see both Rin and Zelal looking at him horrified.
As he was wondering why they were staring, he heard a rustling noise behind him. Turning back, he saw a sight which he would be forever implanted in his mind.
He gulped,' Oh boy! I just awoke a beast. Didn't I?'

Sometime back,
Inside the dark space.
Jinha's heart began to pound as sweat dripped on his face.
”Jinha… Jinha.”
A voice called behind him, causing him to immediately turn around from the suddenness.
”W-Who's there?”
His eyes widened to no end when he saw his entire family helplessly tied up before him. His little brother, his older sister, his beloved mother and father.
A dark, mysterious figure suddenly appeared between him and his family. Instead of confronting Jinha, it went straight towards his family as a pair of claws shot down from one of its arms.
