103 Chapter 103: Yours? (1/2)
Loving can only hurt a person. Giving all your heart to someone for it to be broken is stupid right?
It breaks our delicate heart into tiny crumbles just like how Hazel watched Usui's heartbreak into pieces.
But, for some reason, Hazel couldn't wipe away his anguished face from her mind. It was like she did some sin that she would not be able to change in the future. She couldn't wipe away the guilt that accompanied her for lying and breaking his heart just because she didn't want to change.
She didn't want her time to move. It was frozen that night and she thought it was best that way. She had enough with one memory which would haunt her for the rest of her life.
But, Why is her heart hurting too? Why didn't it like what she did?
...
”You shouldn't let the past ruin you, Freya”
Hazel opened her eyes and released him. She smiled as she looked away from him and murmured, ”I don't... my future was already ruined that night, Jinha. I shouldn't even think about love, Jinha.”
She looked at him. Her emerald eyes sparkled making Jinha's heart wince.
”That's my punishment, Jinha.”
Jinha caught her arms as he shook her and said agitatedly, ”It is not. You were young, Freya. You can't blame yourself for that night.”
The smile disappeared from her face as she said softly, ”I was naive and that was exactly why it happened.”
”He wouldn't like this... if he was alive, all he would have wanted was for you to be happy.”
She mumbled, ”But he isn't, right?”
Silence descended upon them as they heard the wind howl in their ears. Hazel sighed before looking up and said, ”It's fine this way, Jinha. I'm happy.”
Jinha scowled, ”Don't lie, Freya. Why do you look like you are at your breaking point then?”
Hazel touched her face in shock and asked, ”Do I?”
Jinha sighed as he looked at her. That funny, witty, brave, innocent, and cute girl was nowhere to be seen since that night. It was like even though she was saved, her soul had completely left her leaving behind a shell.
Jinha shook his head and told, ”Try giving him a chance when you are ready, Freya. Please, for me?”
Hazel stared at him silently as Jinha patiently waited for her to respond. Smiling slightly, Hazel teased, ”Why do I feel that you love him and want me to reject him so that you can take over later?”
Jinha widened his eyes in shock before gritting his teeth. He raised his hand to hit her when he heard her chuckle softly. He rolled his eyes as he snorted, ”Even if I had to fall for a guy, I would never fall for that idiot.”
” And, yet you want me to give him a chance.”
Jinha nodded as he said, ”Yes because that idiot would make you happy.”
Hazel knitted her brows as if asking, 'When did he make me happy?'
Someone behind them asked, ”If you guys are done, Can we go out?”
Hazel and Jinha turned around and saw everyone gathered together and looking at her hopefully. A smile graced her face when she saw them waiting for her answer. Their eyes held worry for her.
She shook her head slightly at her friends, 'She had them and that's all she needed. Asking for too much, isn't it being too greedy?'
Ren looked at her excitedly as he pleaded, ”Come on princess, let's go fill our tummies.”
She laughed as she nodded her head.
Jinha smiled widely and held her hand pulling her along with him as they made their way out the building. Instantly her friends surrounded her, chattering endlessly.
Hazel's eyes lingered on his hand before it slowly shifted to his broad back.
She apologized mentally, 'Im sorry, Jinha. I'm sorry for using you.'
Her eyes shifted to her friends who were having fun chatting with each other. She felt Liz and Reya wrap their arms around her shoulders as they giggled.
'Love, huh?'
....
Stella hastened her speed as she rushed downstairs looking around for the cold guy. She bit her lip angrily as she failed to find him. Enraged, she stomped her foot on the ground like a helpless kid. Her eyes swept through the crowd as she exclaimed, ”Geez... just how fast was this guy!”
She bit her lip wistfully as she mumbled profusely, ”Couldn't he be a little nicer?”
She exhaled seeing no trace of him. She turned around and was about to leave when she heard some girl say Loki. She knitted her brows as she glanced at the crowd through the corner of her eyes. She tapped her foot as she hesitated to head over or not but eventually curiosity took over her.
She approached them and stood behind a wall as she tried to eavesdrop on them.
A woman within the group blurted, ”That guy is so ruthless. I didn't think he could get even worse than the already existing rumors.”
