148 Chapter 148: Real fun (1/2)
A smile played along his lips as he observed the humans.
”So weak... it was fun to catch you guys off-guard”
His eyes flashed as a bloody grin spread across his face, ”The fun of watching you struggle in my hands...” His grin faded as he narrowed his eyes and tutted, ”Tch! you just ruined my fun. How are you planning to compensate me?”
The demon stomped on the body in front of him and numerous crack echoed in the silent night as the bones broke from the still body, making everyone gulp hard. The soldiers who had escaped the blood bath luckily slowly withdrew their steps with their swords shaking.
Usui scanned his people and clutched his sword harder. The demon had wiped out half of their people, leaving the ones who escaped, shaking in fear.
”So, do you guys have plans to entertain me?”
Usui pursed his lips as he pointed his sword at the demon, making the latter grin widely.
The demon flew into the air with both his hands raised. As soon as his foot left the ground, the dead soldiers revived as they arose from the ground. The soldier who was crushed by the demon was slowly getting up to his feet.
The demon smirked as he pointed his finger at the crowd and proclaimed, ”Come, my death slaves, heed to this lord's call, Sirius, and flood this castle with blood.”
At once, the dead soldiers turned towards them, their eyes blank and blood flowing profusely. Even though their bodies were twisted in many ways, still they heeded their lord's call and rushed towards Usui's group.
The soldiers gaped at the incoming bunch and turned to Usui in fright. Usui bit his lips as he stared at the familiar soldiers rushing towards them madly.
He was familiar with few as they greeted him by the corridors and walked with them. He looked at the soldiers who were looking at him in fear.
He wouldn't be able to fathom the amount of guilt these people would have, these people who have lived with them and bantered with the dead soldiers frequently. Their hearts must be bleeding now in the coming order.
He inhaled deeply before he glanced up and said frostily, ”Take your positions”
The soldier's gritted their teeth as they stood up collectively, dragging their swords as they looked at the mass in anger. They wanted to kill him... wanted to kill that bloody demon for not letting them rest even when they were dead.
They stood up firmly looking at the familiar faces and vowed to let them take quick rest.
To them, these dead soldiers were enemies, their friends were long gone and now some dark souls are using their bodies. So they took it in them to do the job to end their struggle so that they can rest easy.
He battled one of the generals who was throwing ice attacks at him recklessly. No matter how hard he tried to injure him, the general didn't stop as it continued attacking him. Usui was beginning to understand something as the general didn't die even after his sword pierced his chest.
Suddenly, someone took his place and pushed him away. Usui staggered on his feet before he looked at the woman who pushed him away.
She glanced at him and said smoothly, ”I will deal with him” and she immediately went into full battle mode. At that moment, he saw her eyes were red as if she were crying just before she joined them. Then he remembered the rumor he heard when he arrived.
The two generals in the same squad were planning on getting married. His eyes shifted to the woman who was battling the guy with tears flowing down her face.
Usui bit his lips as he could understand the pain she was going through.
”Brother!!!”
Zelal's shout diverted him from his thoughts just in time to see a soldier jump at him. But before the soldier could attack him, a wall formed around him, and a sudden cry was heard.
Usui stood up within the earth wall and saw Stella and Zelal standing beside him when the wall collapsed.
Zelal panted as he looked around, ”What should we do?”
Usui looked up in the sky and saw the demon watching the events with a grin.
”We need to get him down and defeat him.”
Stella looked at him worriedly and asked, ”How will we defeat him?”
”Leave him to me”
A stern voice sounded from beside them and before they could reject it, they saw the king flying towards the demon.
Usui wanted to stop him but was held back by General Kim.
