150 Chapter 150: Lets not waste time (1/2)
Silence resumed in the night as Liz and Jinha made their rounds. They were the only ones remaining inside the academy premises while the rest of the Council members scouted the city.
Liz knitted her brows as she walked around as she felt something amiss. She looked at Jinha who had his hands behind his head as he walked with her, boredom evident on his face.
She shook her head as she remembered how he protested against staying inside the academy.
”No fair... Why should I stay out of the fun?”
Liz asked him, ”Who said you will stay out of the fun?”
”Isn't that what it means? Guard the academy!” He looked at the rest and pointed at them while looking at her and screamed, ”They are going to have fun. They are getting some action while I get only leisure walks. ”
Everyone rolled their eyes at him before proceeding to their duties.
Liz sighed for the millionth time and said, ”If you are that itching for a fight, then go with them. I can scout the academy on my own.”
Jinha raised his eyebrows when he saw her walk forward without any care. He chuckled softly before striding towards her and said, ”I don't want to hear that I am negligent with my duties.”
Liz glanced at him through the corner of her eye before a sigh escaped her lips.
Suddenly she stopped when she heard loud footsteps from inside the building. She exchanged gazes with Jinha who was also looking at the direction with his eyebrows furrowed.
He waved his hand towards the students guarding some distance away and directed them towards the direction. He nodded at Liz and walked back to the main entrance.
They knitted their brows when they saw the empty front yard. They walked around the building, stopping at the entrance.
The sound grew louder as if a cluster of people were running towards them. Liz gripped her hands around her sword while Jinha stomped the spear on the ground.
Soon, he saw dark shadows emerge from the door making the students gasp in shock.
'How did they enter?'
Jinha furrowed his brows as he pointed his spear at the demons collectively gathered by the door. Pursing his lips, he slowly pressed the bracelet around his wrist but to his surprise, it didn't light up.
A chuckle was heard, ”There's no point in clicking that.”
Jinha looked up and saw a figure step out from the darkness, with his hands in his pockets. The figure raised his head, his silver hair falling on his face as he smirked, ”We made a little adjustment to it.”
Liz widened her eyes in shock before her eyes shifted towards her bracelet.
'How can that be?!'
The guy laughed softly, ”Let's not waste time, shall we?”
He lifted his hands in response and waved it. Instantly the reapers rushed towards them and sounds of swords clashing filled the air.
She immediately summoned a wall of fire as she separated the reapers from them. Her sword shone in blue light while her other arm was covered with ice.
She moved forward hitting the reapers scythe back and forth with her sword and arm. When she saw the reaper lift its scythe in the air, slashed its waist. She touched its body and said coldly, ”Blackout”
Instantly, ice spread throughout its body, freezing it, and shattered into ice shards.
Liz let out a sigh before she turned towards the students and said, ”Inform the rest”
The students nodded their heads immediately before their eyes widened. Liz knitted her brows but before she could ask them, she felt it.
She felt the power behind her.
She turned around instantly trying to avoid the attack but failed to dodge it completely. She flew backward and slammed against the wall. Her hands shook as she grasped the wall beside her for support but instantly the silver-haired guy appeared before her. Liz glanced up at him and saw him smirk as he raised his foot to kick her.
Liz rolled on the ground as she dodged the attack.
'Damn this guy! It was taking all of her strength to move her body.'
Her lips trembled as she looked up and saw the guy smirking at her amusedly. That kick took her breath away, she was even sure she had some internal bleeding.
'Who was this guy?'
She couldn't feel his aura but she knew at a glance that she was no match for him. His one attack would finish her off.
