163 Chapter 163: He is mine (1/2)

Hazel glanced at him through the corner of her eyes and shook her head.

”He is mine”

Loki pursed his lips before looking down at the sleeping girl in his arms.

He smiled gently at Stella and caressed her cheeks with the back of his hand before glancing up at the sound of a big impact. A blast of dust flew towards him. As soon as the dust cleared up, he saw Hazel spat a mouthful of blood.

Hazel wiped the corners of her mouth as she studied Usui who was panting heavily. Her eyes narrowed when she thought of the last attack.

Somehow it seemed like, he intentionally missed her heart. The last attack he used was directed towards her heart. Hazel had realized it too late and even if she tried to dodge it by then, it wouldn't have done anything. But, surprisingly at the last moment, his sword moved and caused a deep gash on her arm.

'Maybe Usui was in there trying to fight the demon.'

That thought gave her profound strength that her eyes sparkled.

Since she realized that he was still somewhere there, fighting against the demon. She shouldn't give up on him.

She decided to help him.

Spinning her dagger on her hands, she dashed forward, dodging the rocks, and slammed her dagger against his sword.

Her eyes peered into his seeking him beneath those multicolored eyes. She clenched her jaw as she pushed forward and her aura blazed forth. Her bright aura clashed with his darkness and caused an explosion. Dust swirled around them before vanishing into thin air. As soon as her vision cleared, Hazel murmured, ”Lightning bullets”

Thin long light lines filled the air surrounding her as she got up. Hazel glared at Usui and motioned the bullets to rain down on him. Usui cackled loudly as he protected the bullets raining on him with his sword. He ignored the scraps and cuts caused on his arm and looked at Hazel with a smirk.

His face altered and his eyes widened when he saw Hazel right in front of him. Hazel smirked with a glint as she brought down her dagger on him. Usui twisted his body and dodged her move just in time to see the deep black gash formed on his previous spot.

”Tsk, just miss”

Hazel tilted her head as she smiled making Usui grit his teeth. They reached the other in a matter of seconds and exchanged blows. She summoned lightning to distract him while she attacked with her fire. She used both her powers magnificently to corner him.

Enraged, the demon blasted into pure fury as his body burned in a dark flame.

He was done playing with this human.

”Die, human”

Somehow, the whole atmosphere froze Hazel's body as if something was holding her back. Her body twitched as she fought to move but she could only watch as he brings his sword down on her.

”HAZEL!!!!”

Numerous loud shrieks occurred all around her but her eyes were focused on the sword...

Would she fail before saving him?

Just as the sword neared her head, his movements stopped. Her eyes widened when she saw veins swell from his arm as he managed to stop the attack. His eyes burned as he met hers.

He spat out in difficultly, ”Freya...Move...out...of...the...way”

A gasp fell from her mouth and her eyes widened in hope. Her fingers twitched signaling her to move. Abruptly she moved out of the sword's way and turned around just in time to see his hands relax and fall to the ground. His arms shook and his shoulders trembled.

Hazel stood up immediately with joy until her smile disappeared when she heard the low voice dripping with rage.

”Why, you puny human!!”

He raised his head and met her gaze. He clenched his hands and snarled, ”How dare you try to control me!”

Hazel stood rooted to her spot for a moment before she relaxed her body and inhaled calmly.

For a moment, she had thought he was back. She bit her lips when she thought of his face before. His golden-brown eyes looked at her pleadingly as his lips curved showing his teeth, trying to hold back the sword.

'Silly! Just what did she do to deserve him?'

He was always trying to protect her.

Always!

Her lips lifted slightly when she remembered how she had treated him before. Was heaven trying to punish her for her misgivings?

He had always put her first and yet, she had always put him down.

'Haha... maybe heaven is really trying to punish me.'

She smiled bitterly, 'Maybe it wants to test how far I will go for him.'

She looked at his tensed shoulders and arms which were pulsating excessively.

'He must have been fighting hard to protect me -' Her eyes enlarged slightly as she mumbled, ”Protect?”
