12 Chapter 12: A Higher Power At Work (1/2)
As Jack laid on the ground slowly recovering from his burn wounds during the heavy rain surrounded by the mutilated corpses of the goblins he slayed.
Jack was struck with a sudden epiphany in his isolation.
About the Goblins and why he was killing them without any regard for their well being despite clearly being capable of and displaying human emotions.
As a normal boy prior to his time in the Dark Room he was the type of boy that would not have evenhurt a fly, let alone go on a murderous killing spree.
Jack's mother Cassandra was a staunchly religious women who had raised Jack to respect all life even the smallest ones like bugs and infidels, and now he was not only eating bugs but human like people too!...
Jack had regained some degree of bodily functions overtime still blind and death he did feel nauseous when recounting his current eating habits.
Not only had he killed and eaten almost anything he came across he even killed sentient feeling intelligent creatures like goblins that could be considered close to a fellow human being.
The nauseous feeling in the pit of his stomach rose and Jack puked out the leftover goblin meat in his stomach.
Although his eyes had melted off and he was incapable of crying he still managed to ooze out bloody tears from his recovering eye sockets.
He felt great disgust in his actions but unlike before there was no anger or hatred directed towards anyone else this disgust of his was felt directly towards himself only.
Jack: (” I'm a monster… ”)
Those words echoed across Jacks mind as he was having PTSD flashbacks of the horrible things he had done up until now.
While Jack was sobbing bloody tears laying in a puddle of his own puke and filth having a panic attack.
A familiar and cute stuffed teddy bear floated high on a tree branch observing him.
Chuck shook his head in disapproval at Jack's mental breakdown and let out a disappointed sigh.
Chuck turned his stuffed teddy bear head away from Jack and looked beside him and spoke to the seemingly empty piece of space next to him.
Chuck: ”My Goddess are you sure this one is worthy of being you're vessel?”
There was no reply to Chuck's question that could be heard.
It was as if he was talking to the air itself but still shook his head in confirmation at the silent disembodied voice that spoke to him.
Chuck: ”He suspects nothing my goddess please rest assured.”
Chucks tone was unusually serious and out of place for his usual demeanor.
Chuck saluted the empty space with his stuffed teddy bear arms with so much respect and admiration you could feel his overwhelming loyalty from his stance alone, despite his odd stuffed bear appearance.
As the the silent disembodied voice drifted away Chuck turned his attention to look down at jack with his expressionless teddy bear face.
Chucks teddy bear body glowed with a deep black and green light as his obscured figure morphed into a different being.
When the light diminished it revealed a small six winged feminine humanoid creature that stood at around eight inches tall.
She was a Dark Fairy a very rare species of fairy that was incapable of being born through natural means.
There origins dated back to the Four Kings of D'Ardadra said to have been first created during the third King Eldraith's reign over D'Ardadra.
She was only one of few that existed throughout the realms.
Her name was ”Plum the Dark Fairy” as she looked down at Jack she spoke in a cold but cute high pitched voice.
Plum: ”Stupid boy.”
To Plum Jack was nothing more than a means to an end a task she had been assigned too by her supreme and benevolent Goddess.
Jack was just another pawn in the grand schemes of her great Goddess that would be tossed away and considered useless when completed.
