Chapter 27 - The Last Order (1/2)
Hecathe unconsciously took a step back but soon controlled himself as he coughed twice before giving the mutants a simple order just to test if they were going to listen to him or not.
”The ground. Come on, dig.”
The mutants didn't even hesitate as they immediately heard Hecathe's order and started digging the ground below them with all their feet and hands.
Hecathe couldn't help but be a little surprised and impressed as he nodded in satisfaction.
Now that he knew that they would follow simple commands, it was now turn to try and increase the difficulty level of the commands.
”Okay, stop digging,” Hecathe ordered as he thought about what order he was going to give them next.
The mutants immediately stopped and looked at him with their big black eyes that had small white pupils in them.
”Try climbing trees,” Hecathe gave out his second order and within just a few seconds, the mutants had already crawled all the way up to the top of the trees that covered Hecathe.
Hecathe nodded as he saw this, ”Good. Get down now.”
The mutants didn't even bother crawling back down as they directly jumped and landed around Hecathe.
Hecathe squinted at them as he wondered if they would really listen to his next command or not. The next command that he had in mind was certainly not the same as digging up the ground or climbing on trees so he was a bit cautious as he ordered out.
”Kill the mutant standing beside you. Just one is enough,” Hecathe immediately gulped as he waited for the reaction.
He thought the creatures would be at least a little hesitant but instead of being hesitant, the mutants immediately turned to face each other, growling and showing off their sharp fangs as they tried to intimidate the other.
They instantaneously jumped on each other and started biting like crazy. Some died while trying to kill the other while other mutants were successful in biting off the head of the mutant that stood beside them.
Hecathe's eyes widened but his pupils contracted as he saw such a gruesome fight. Even though he was already clear that these mutants were practically harmless to him, he still couldn't help but feel a shiver run down his spine as he imagined a scene where the mutants would turn against him and try to kill him in the same bloodthirsty manner.
The fight was over sooner than he had expected and half of the mutants had already been killed by the other remaining half. A light blue bead fell out from the mouths of the dead mutants and Hecathe ordered the other mutants to collect the bead and to bring it over to Hecathe.
He held out his palm and waited as his palm slowly filled up with mutant beads that were handed over by the other mutants.
In his mind, he couldn't help but be a little surprised as he concluded that Mutants were even willing to kill each other because of his order.
There was some dark black blood covering the bead but Hecathe only frowned as he wiped the dark blood away using his cloak and stuffed the cleaned mutant bead inside his pocket.
