Chapter 30 - Chicken Bosom Cutlet (1/2)
”Who the hell named it Chicken bosom cutlet?” Hecathe questioned as he looked at the plate of chicken cutlet that he had ordered.
The waiter's eyes widened and he chuckled as he corrected Hecathe, ”Sir, it's chicken blossom cutlet. Not Chicken bosom cutlet.”
”...”
”Here you go, sir.” The waiter put the plate down in front of Hecathe as he added, ”Please enjoy.”
Hecathe frowned as he looked at the waiter smiling brightly before going back to help the other customers.
Hecathe had picked this dish because it looked tasty and it was also something he had never had before in his life.
He picked up the spoon and immediately took a bite out of the weird-named dish. Surprisingly enough, this chicken blossom cutlet tasted a bit too delicious.
In just a few minutes, he was able to finish it completely and his stomach was left craving for more
He coughed as he held out his hand and called the waiter over again to order the same dish.
The waiter smiled as he nodded and took another ten minutes to bring over the second plate.
”Would you like to order anything else, Sir?” The waiter asked politely.
Hecathe shook his head as he answered, ”This is enough. Thank you very much.”
As he started eating again, he couldn't help but wonder why that boy back in the underground base had said that this city was unwelcoming to strangers.
Hecathe was clearly a stranger but except for that small incident at the entrance, nothing big had happened that made him feel as if he were being discriminated against.
Even the waiter was just as polite and friendly towards him as he was to the others.
People really seemed to have a huge misunderstanding about this city.
After the second plate of the weirdly delicious chicken blossom cutlet, Hecathe felt that he was finally satisfied and went over to pay for the food.
At the paying desk, there was a menu kept with all the prices written. Hecathe waited in line and calculated the price for himself before taking the money out from his pocket and getting ready to pay.
When it was finally his turn, he handed the money over, however, the man in front frowned as he looked at Hecathe.
”It's four hundred lenix,” The man informed rather rudely.
”Eh?” Hecathe looked at the price that was written on the menu and pointed at it as he argued, ”But doesn't this say only two hundred Lenix?”
The cashier nodded as he explained, ”That's for the locals. For all foreigners, you get double the price.”
”...” Hecathe was shocked and a bit offended as he heard this.
The waiter who had helped Hecathe came over at this moment as he questioned, ”Is there any problem here?”
The man in front nodded as he explained the situation to the waiter, ”This man is unwilling to pay.”
A small frown could be seen on the waiter's face as he looked at Hecathe and spoke up, ”Sir, if you ate the food, you should pay the price as well.”
Hecathe pursed his lips as he shook his head and argued, ”I'm not unwilling to pay. It's just that I don't think this is right. The menu clearly says that I only ordered food that cost two hundred lenix. Why am I being charged double the amount? I understand that there should be tax implemented for foreigners, but double the price is still a bit too much and there was no mention of it before.”
