Chapter 66 - Private Sale? (1/2)
The woman opened the door and entered the balcony before going over towards one side and closing the curtain, making it so that nobody else could peek in.
”Didn't I already provide a sample?” Hecathe asked cautiously as he glanced at the woman whose face was covered with a white mask.
The woman nodded her head as she responded, ”You have provided us and we have checked but we need to check all hundred mutant beads.”
”To ensure that I'm not trying to trick you?” Hecathe frowned as he questioned and the woman nodded her head without any sense of hesitation as she confirmed.
”Hundred mutant beads is no small amount so we have to be extra careful,” She explained with her emotionless voice.
”I understand,” Hecathe sighed as he took out the hundred mutant beads that were kept in a pouch and carelessly handed them over to the woman.
The woman gulped as her eyes widened ever so slightly. She took the mutant beads and sat down in front of Hecathe as she started individually checking the quality of each one of them.
Hecathe didn't care too much as he casually looked at the mutant beads being checked. He had personally ordered the mutants to kill themselves and had collected their mutant bead so he was more than confident with the quality of every mutant bead that made up the hundred mutant beads that were ready to be sold to the auction house.
”I wonder what is going to happen to these?” Hecathe asked as he looked at the woman but it didn't seem as if he was looking to find an answer, however, the woman was still polite enough to respond.
”Since you sold it to the auction house, these mutant beads would also be sold to the highest paying customer.”
”Eh?” Hecathe tilted his head in amusement as he heard something that was a bit off, ”You said they would be sold to the highest paying customer?”
The woman nodded her head as she continued doing her work and checked the mutant beads thoroughly.
”But you didn't say they would be sold to the highest bidder.”
”...” The woman was silent this time and Hecathe couldn't help but find himself a little interested in the topic as he asked.
”Could it be that you guys have already made a deal with someone? A private sale?”
The woman sighed as she shook her head and spoke, ”I cannot reveal that.”
”That means I'm right,” Hecathe stated confidently with a chuckle.
This black market was a bit special and the auction wasn't the only way for people to sell and buy stuff here. A private sale was another less famous method.
Hecathe first thought the hundred mutant beads he had sold to the auction house would end up as a bidding item, however, after listening to the woman, he realized that the auction house had other plans for the hundred mutant beads. Instead of selling them individually, they were all planned to be sold together to a customer who had already offered to pay the highest price for them.
