Chapter 71 - The Greatest Legend? (1/2)
Once the man was done explaining the cooking procedure, Hecathe took the egg and got ready to leave, however, the auctioneer stopped him one last time as he spoke.
”Sir, if you ever find those pure mutant beads again, you must not forget about us.”
”...”
”Make sure to come here and sell it to us. We would be willing to give you a fair price for it.”
Hecathe nodded his head as he heard the man, ”I would make sure that you're the first one I come to if I find more.”
It wasn't exactly a lie since Hecathe did plan on selling more mutant beads to this auction.
The auctioneer smiled as he heard this response that didn't sound like a lie simply said to make him feel assured.
Hecathe was soon given a special carrier bag that worked much alike his pocket suitcase. Once the egg was placed inside it and he closed the bag, the bag shrunk down to a size that could easily be kept in his pocket.
It seemed that the people in this auction house didn't care if they were using Alphius's creations.
Hecathe didn't waste any time as he immediately left the auction.
”Master, where are we going now?” Although the egg was kept inside the small compressed bag, he could still talk, and naturally enough, only Hecathe was able to hear him.
”To collect some money,” Hecathe responded without bothering to explain any further.
”Collecting money? Are you rich, Master?” The Dorgon asked and although the words chosen were polite, the way the Dorgon spoke them was far from polite.
”Rich?” Hecathe repeated as he thought about the answer but instead of actually giving the Dorgon an answer, he asked back, ”Does it matter if I'm rich or not?”
”Of course, it does!” The Dorgon immediately exclaimed as he added, ”Isn't money the thing that rules your people?”
”...”
”You kill anything and everyone for some Lenix. The one who has money has more power and the one who doesn't is considered weak in front of the powerful!”
Hecathe chuckled as he heard this and commented, ”You seem to know a lot about humans.”
The Dorgon sounded a bit proud as he stated, ”I'm the great emperor! Knowing something so common is to be expected.”
Hecathe nodded his head as he found it a bit funny to hear an unborn Dorgon say something like this.
”You're right, money rules humans. It is another word for power. You can either be born with a unique powerful ability or you can be born with a lot of money. If you are fortunate enough to say that you have one of those things, you'll be regarded as powerful.”
”Then are you powerful, Human?”
You forgot to call me master,” Hecathe pointed out as he once again dodged answering the question.
”Then are you powerful, Master?” The Dorgon immediately changed his words and repeated the question.
”What do you think?” Hecathe smirked as he asked back in turn.
This time, the Dorgon seemed to be seriously thinking about the answer for a bit as he took his sweet time responding.
”You can't be ordinary.”
