Chapter 137 - Is There Something That You Are Not Telling Me? (1/2)

After a few days, the rain finally died down and left behind a city that was flooded.

Everyone stayed at home during the entire time and only when the rain had stopped did people go out to their jobs.

Hecathe also lazed around at home as he limited his time outside and only went out in order to buy food for the Dorgon.

Since some time had passed, the man felt that it was a good idea to move on to his next step and headed to the guild as soon as there was a sunnier day to enjoy.

”What...?!” Kelly frowned as she muttered in disbelief.

Hecathe had a small smile on his face as he spoke, ”Tell the client that Alphius is still in Ocasia.”

Kelly's eyebrows furrowed together as she heard the man repeat his words and she could still not understand what Hecathe was planning.

”Hecathe, Is there something that you are not telling me?” Kelly asked as she looked at Hecathe with suspicion.

Hecathe chuckled dryly as he shook his head and felt that this was to be expected. Kelly was a smart woman who let most things slide but it would certainly be impossible for her to not be suspicious of all the needless work Hecathe was putting in on this mission.

Hecathe had already expected the woman to one day catch on to his secret planning.

”Miss Kelly, The mission was for us to find the truth behind the rumor, and believe me, that's really what I'm doing,” Hecathe spoke with a sigh and it didn't sound like the man was lying in the least.

”Then why are you purposefully creating confusion and making everything more complicated?” Kelly questioned back as she clicked her tongue.

”Because confusion and chaos are hard to decipher. You can only find the truth when you learn to dig at the right places,” Hecathe responded and Kelly could sense that there was a deeper meaning behind his words, however, she could not understand what he truly meant and this was only natural considering the fact that the woman had no idea about Hecathe's original goals.

”By the end of it, the truth is going to reveal itself and that is something that I can assure you,” Hecathe added and Kelly couldn't help but be curious.

Hecathe kept talking about the real truth and secrets when the mission at first only involved finding the roots of a ridiculous rumor. It would be a lie to say that Kelly hadn't been curious since day one to know just what exactly this big truth was.

”So you're not going to tell me what you're planning?” Kelly asked with a scoff.

Hecathe chuckled softly as he shook his head and responded, ”Patience is a great thing. You'll eventually come to know so what's the hurry?”

”...” Kelly pursed her lips into a thin line as she heard this and took a minute to ask, ”And you expect me to agree to everything you say because I should trust you...?”

Hecathe nodded his head and Kelly was left a little speechless.

”In a guild, trust is a really important factor for a brighter future, don't you think?” Hecathe asked as he tilted his head and Kelly couldn't help but grit her teeth as she heard this.

”Fine,” Kelly agreed with a sigh as she slammed her hands on the table, ”I'll go and tell him that but you better have an Alphius kept ready for him. We can't just lie to a client.”

Hecathe nodded his head as he reassured, ”Alphius would definitely be there waiting for the great Orgon.”

Hecathe could ensure this only because he had a special connection with the so-called Alphius, but of course, Kelly would naturally not know this.

”Tell the client this much and give him this address,” Hecathe took out a piece of paper from his pocket and placed it on the table before pushing it forward towards Kelly's side as he spoke.

Kelly took a look at the paper and nodded her head as she picked it up before folding it neatly and keeping it away safely.

”Okay. As long as you can get the job done, I'll be there to support your crazy ideas but you better get the job done if you don't want to see me freezing you to death,” She glared at Hecathe as she spoke and Hecathe nodded his head as he didn't feel intimidated in the least.

Whenever Kelly was angry, the room would get colder and the sudden coldness would certainly manage to send a shiver down anybody's spine, however, by now, Hecathe was already used to this woman and her anger so the cold hardly bothered him.

”If you don't see the results then you can just make me work my ass off in this guild for the rest of my life as compensation for my careless plans and actions,” Hecathe nodded his head with a small chuckle as he spoke and he clearly meant every word of what he had said.

”If you are willing to take responsibility then that's good,” Kelly rubbed her forehead with a sigh as she spoke and suddenly took out a file from one of the desk drawers as she continued, ”If you are up to it then take a look at this.”

Hecathe's eyes narrowed down on the black folder and he picked it up as he opened it to read.

It took only a few minutes for him to understand what this file was about but the more he read and understood, the more confused he seemed.
