Chapter 180 - The Wrong Twin...? (1/2)
”A twin brother...?” Marvin repeated with a bit of surprise as he immediately snapped his head towards LeiLei and looked at the girl for confirmation.
LeiLei's eyes immediately widened as she heard this question and the girl was clearly feeling a little uneasy, however, she still nodded her head as she responded, ”I know about that.”
”And you didn't care to tell us?” Hecathe tilted his head as he questioned with an unimpressed expression plastered on his face.
”It was something that was never meant to be known by you,” LeiLei sighed as she looked away and responded.
”Because your father was supposed to die in the first place since he was Dorka's twin brother...?” Hecathe clicked his tongue as he questioned in disbelief..
LeiLei looked to be a bit offended as she heard this and the girl immediately shouted back, ”That's not it! My father wasn't the one who was supposed to die!”
”Eh...?” Hecathe's eyebrows drew together as he heard this and the man was clearly a bit confused as he waited for the girl's explanation.
”Dorka was the one!” LeiLei revealed in a fit of anger and as soon as the words fell out of her mouth, she seemed to have regretted it.
”There's no regretting now. We are with you and not against you. If there is anyone whom you should be honest to it is us,” Marvin spoke as he pursed his lips into a thin line.
LeiLei gulped as she heard this but still looked to be reluctant.
”He's right,” Hecathe nodded his head and agreed with Marvin as he spoke, ”We are on your side so you can tell us anything that might trouble you.”
”He...” LeiLei sighed as she looked down at the ground and hesitated to speak, ”My father was the one who was supposed to be the third willow of spring... He was the one who defeated the Dorgon.”
Both Hecathe and Marvin looked to be shocked as they heard this and they looked at each other just to check whether their shock was mutual or not.
The first three willows of spring were decided by the three leaders that had ruled the rebellion and overthrown the government and after their deaths, they had no children or siblings to give down their thrones to and hence, there was a new selection process made for the next three willows of spring.
If one could manage to defeat a Dorgon, that person would be proclaimed as the new willow of spring and if all three seats are already filled then the person would also have to fight the willow of spring whose seat he or she wants to take.
It was a simple challenge that was not as simple to clear. There were a lot of people that had tried and most of them had also died in the process.
Even the great Edler had died in the hands of a Dorgon so it could be clearly said that beating one was no easy task.
”You mean to say... Dorka lied...?” Marvin questioned as he gulped in disbelief.
LeiLei nodded her head as she confirmed this and spoke, ”My father was the one who killed the Dorgon and he was the one who was supposed to be the third willow of spring but then, he didn't want to leave me and my mother behind so he gave it up to his brother and since they looked alike, nobody suspected a thing.”
Hecathe's eyes widened ever so slightly as he suddenly remembered the words he had heard from Psion. He had also said something along the same lines of people not realizing the difference between the real deal and the twin.
”Dorka would actually do such a shameless thing?” Marvin questioned and not only did he sound shocked but he also sounded a bit angry and disgusted at the man.
”Originally, my father wanted to give it up for good since he didn't even mean to actually kill the Dorgon, but then his brother convinced him to give the chance over to him. Uncle Dorka loved power and he promised my father that we would get to live a safe and happy life.”
”LeiLei, I'm just asking this in case but... Did your father die before your uncle Dorka?” Hecathe asked as his eyes narrowed down on the girl.
LeiLei nodded her head as she heard this, ”He did.”
Hecathe gulped as he heard this and looked at Marvin who looked back at him. Both of them had the same thought in mind.
There was a high chance of it being Dorka who betrayed and killed LeiLei's father.
