Chapter 191 - Im Unworthy...? (1/2)

Anyone who saw this scene and heard Hecathe's words would be easily able to tell that Hecathe was only aiming to achieve one purpose and that was to agitate the man.

Asgarian gritted his teeth and for the first time, he could be seen losing his composure.

Hecathe smiled in satisfaction as he managed to achieve what he had wanted.

”You dare say I'm unworthy...?!” Asgarian stood up from the chair and with each word, he slowly raised his voice in an intimidating manner that really didn't affect Hecathe.

At this moment, Hecathe couldn't help but smirk as he felt a sense of deja vu.

When he had first entered this world, this was the exact place that he was kept in and he was wearing this exact same straightjacket as well. He was confused and had no idea where he was but due to his natural skills at agitating people, he had somehow managed to really anger Marvin.

That day was the first time Hecathe had seen someone daring enough to approach him with such an angry and malicious tone and now, it seemed that it was happening all over again.

But instead of Marvin, it was Asgarian who was standing in front of Hecathe.

Hecathe wondered if things were really going to go as they had gone back then.

If everything was to repeat then what comes next would naturally be a few punches.

”Alphius, I thought you were smart enough to make your own decisions but you have proven me wrong. I thought we could put this whole thing behind us by making you another willow but you really don't know what's good for you.”

Hecathe didn't know if he was supposed to laugh or not as he heard this.

”Another willow? You have to be joking,” Hecathe scoffed as he spoke, ”Did you really think giving me a bit of power and letting me join your disgusting system of governance was going to solve everything? If you really thought it was going to be that easy then you're really an idiot.”

”Why?” Asgarian gritted out as he glared at Hecathe, ”Didn't you say we were alike? Don't you long for power as well? Don't you want to be God as well?”

Hecathe clicked his tongue with a sigh as he spoke, ”I did say that but let me remind you that this was in the past tense.”

”Eh?”

”Honestly speaking, Power no longer interests me, and playing God is not something that makes me happy anymore,” Hecathe pursed his lips into a small smile as he spoke, ”I have already lived through that life, but only when I fell did I realize how meaningless it all was.”

Hecathe reminisced about the past and there was a sense of detachment from it that he was able to feel. It was an emotionless feeling... As if things had happened and although he had been bothered by it back then, it no longer held any meaning to the 'him' of today. It was no longer anything more than a story that he could tell once in a while.

He had been the great Zelium King but in the end, he had met his end in a single moment of distraction.

Just like that...

The great Zelium King had died and left the world that he had previously ruled.

Hecathe had to admit that he was lucky to have been able to mourn over his own death.

He still wanted to go back to his world because of his personal attachments, but those attachments only involved the relationships he had with people. He no longer felt any attachment or attraction to the power that he had once held and that was how the Zelium King had truly died.

The one who was left behind was just Hecathe... A boy who had always dreamt of becoming a villain.

He didn't want to return to his world as the Zelium King cause he was well aware of the fact that the Zelium King had already passed away. He simply wanted to return as Hecathe, the man who never got to spend time on himself.

Asgarian's lips seemed to twitch as he heard Hecathe and he took a solid minute to digest the words before he scoffed, ”Don't just go and play the nice guy now! It doesn't matter. You have already lost your chance and the only thing waiting for you now are the gates of hell.”

Hecathe couldn't help but let out a small chuckle as he heard this, ”Don't worry, those gates of hell are waiting for you as well.”
