Chapter 704 Red Clothes (2/2)

In his anxiousness, King Wu swiftly arrived outside the treasury. He breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that the doors were still intact and in perfectly good condition. The treasury was protected by a secret mechanism that outsiders could not open.

King Wu did not have the time to wonder why the guards had vanished. He used a secret method to open the treasury and immediately dashed in.

The interior sparkled dazzlingly, but King Wu did not even glance at any of the treasures as he rushed directly towards the deepest area. Moments later, his Spirit arrived atop a stone platform, only to be horrified to discover that it was empty. The Treasure Lotus Paste had disappeared!

“God dammit! Where’s my Treasure Lotus Paste?!”

Wu Huang roared in anger as his Spirit rippled violently, his anger clearly reaching its peak.

Someone had stolen the Treasure Lotus Paste. This was clearly intentional!

“But I left a mark on the Treasure Lotus Paste. It won’t be so easy to steal it from me!” However, King Wu gradually regained his cool with a deep breath. He was dying to see who was so daring as to steal from his treasury!

King Wu immediately activated a secret art as his closed his eyes to sense the paste’s location.

A long while later, he suddenly opened them again as a puzzled look flitted across his eyes.

He had found the Treasure Lotus Paste, but he was confused because it was still within the palace, and had not left...

“Humph, no matter who you are, I will not forgive you for stealing from my treasury!” King Wu icily snorted. His Spirit moved, drifting out of the treasury and heading straight for the location of the paste at an astonishing speed.

He flew past in the palace, gradually heading deeper and deeper. In the end, he discovered that the paste was in the cemetery at the very back of the palace!

King Wu grew increasingly confused.

His Spirit drifted over and gradually came to a stop. The Treasure Lotus Paste was here. He looked to his front where a grand tomb stood.

At the sight of the tomb, King Wu’s Spirit began to violently tremble once more.

It was the queen’s tomb!

Splash.

Before a gravestone in the tomb was a figure in red. She held a bottle of alcohol in one hand as she gently sprinkled its contents on the ground, causing a fragrance to fill the air.

After pouring all the alcohol out, she stared at the tombstone as an indifferent voice sounded, “Father, this should be the second time you’ve come here after mother was buried, right?”

She slowly turned around, revealing an extremely beautiful face.

It was a lovely young lady in red with skin as white as snow. Her looks were outstanding, and merely standing there was all it took to make the desolate and lonely tomb become rather dazzling.

However, her eyes were akin to a deep rippleless pool.

She was clearly a girl, but an indescribable aura of reserved domineeringness spread from her body, making King Wu appear dim and dull in comparison, as if she was the true empress of the heavens.

King Wu was stunned for several moments, before he involuntarily cried out, “Wu Yao?!! Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be in Hunyuan Heaven?!”

However, wild joy quickly flooded his face.

“Great, you’ve come back at the right time! Quickly go and kill that devil spawn of the Zhou clan so our Great Wu Empire will no longer have any worries in the future!”

However, the girl in red did not move as if she had not heard him. Her rippleless eyes contained an almost emotionless indifference as they stared at the excited King Wu.

King Wu slowly realized that something was wrong. He glared at her and chided, “What the hell are you doing?!”

Wu Yao’s eyes lowered slightly. She reached out and gently caressed the mottled gravestone with a fair hand as a sliver of deep sadness appeared in the depths of her eyes.
