Slowly people got hooked in the rhythm, the judges exchanged looks of bewilderment, this guy was even better at singing than rapping but passed the auditions with his secondary talent ! Some of them even started to suspect that they had guessed this year's champion.

People behind their televisions were also hooked, very few were those that disliked Imagine dragon's style. Even though it was rock it was also a very smooth and different kind of rock and that's what got Sam into their fandom too.

Until now the rhythm was slow but strong and now the rhythm changed to something more dynamic, this song was of different pieces that shouldn't go together but were perfectly assembled.

Two minutes later Sam was done with the song and once again the judges looked at him agape.

« I can't believe you. »

« How come you didn't sing during the auditions ? »

The judges were still surprised but they were also professionals so they kept a straight face and went to the next step without losing time.

« Well I preferred starting with that song for a stronger effect. »

Sam answered half honestly, he had thought at the time to buy a level 3 singing skill book and make a big hit from the start but he didn't want to show all he had so soon so he did a big hit but by using a lyrically strong and touching song, this time he already had it so just used it but the judges would expect this level from him for the next and final round so he had to do something else in order to surprise them once again.

« Very well, you were hiding your cards. Not a bad strategy, at least the surprise effect worked on me ! »

« You should sing more often, your voice is angelic. I found myself absorbed by the performance and was very disappointed when it ended as I wanted to listen to more. »

Said one of the female judges, he didn't believe that she was absorbed in the performance only because of his singing skills but he was certain that true charisma cookie was doing its job.

« You already know how this round works right ? We will vote when every contestant has went on stage and when we have the audiences votes checked so you can just sit back down in the waiting room until then. Good job Sam and I hope to see you soon again. »

That last sentence meant a lot, he had a supporter at least amongst the judges and that played a lot in his favor. He was doing better than expected, that charisma cookie had such a strong effect for something that costed only 100 EVs, too bad he could consume only one of it.

After his time on stage Sam went back to his seat but didn't listen to music this time, he just watched the other contestants on the TV with the rest in the waiting room. Some were watching at him weirdly, especially the guys that heard Rena tell him that he'd beat them all, maybe she was right ?
