98 Purple blue nigh (1/2)
Hu Zi realized that her new palace courtyard had only recently been cleaned. The maids didn't know the way around and the guard kept standing at the wrong post. She sensed them all running around with her sensors that covered most of the courtyard. This courtyard was probably the only place inside the palace where the seal wasn't that strong. She could still use a bit of her radar but not much as she couldn't even cover the whole courtyard when she closed her eyes and concentrated.
”Those servants… they let the prince do this by himself? Are those servants also looking down on the prince like that princess?” Hu Zi used her wind flow to get rid of spider nests near the ceiling, opened the window and brushed them out. The room was not small, but it was not that big either. Hu Zi could tell that the room floor was swept every day, probably by that prince. He was small so he wouldn't be able to reach the spider nest even if he used the table.
There was a plain screen that was supposed to be used for changing, this screen was common in a couple room. The bed was not huge but was enough to host two adults, a platform, a bookshelf, and a clothing chest. There was also a very beautiful small table.
This place was a bit separated from the rest of the palace area and was the smallest courtyard in the inner palace.
This courtyard consisted of the bedroom, a small kitchen, living room, and a small space that was used for the bathroom and washroom. The bedroom and the living room had the same size. The living room also served as the dining room and guest room. Overall, the courtyard might even be smaller than a commoner's house.
Hu Zi didn't really mind it though. She was still far away from the emperor and was closer to the Hu second residence, so she was quite happy. But thinking of how they gave the only son of the late emperor, a former crown prince, this small and deserted courtyard caused her to frown.
What could Prince Lan do when the palace freely took over his parents' house? He was all alone, unlike Hu Zi who had Qing Bo and Zhi Yu walking the same path with her. But…
Hu Zi looked to the right and left, she was very curious about that prince. Even in this condition, he managed to decorate the room very nicely, beautiful decorations and fresh flowers around. A fresh bouquet of them was just right in front of her, decorating the bed. She took it in her hands and brought them closer to smell the nice and calming scent under the veil.
”Oh!” She then put the flower back and inactivated the wind radar because her man was here. Even though Hu Zi was a trickster that had hatched plans and pulled strings in order to marry off her own cowardly and ignorant siblings, she was a young maiden at heard and still had some shyness when she was in this condition.
Jin Lan was just behind the closed red door. Even though he agreed to the empress' idea, very aware of his own position in the palace, he was shocked when he heard that the girl agreed to it too.
He wondered, just what kind of woman would agree to marry an outcast like him. A cursed, handicapped prince. He sighed and opened the door slowly.
The door made a creak when its twin leaves moved, revealing the figure of a woman behind it. He looked up and saw his bride sitting there on top of the bed, stiff.
He looked at her stiff stature and slowly walked to the bed, putting his hand on top of it, lifting his body up. He fixed his position, sitting right in front of her, and raised his arms to reach the heavy veil.
Beautiful snow white skin and red lips were seen. Like a flower waiting to be picked up and admired, she was very pretty in his eyes.
Although he already got rid of the veil, she refused to open her eyes. This piqued his interest.
Jin Tao had told him about his bride's eyes being unique but didn't tell him how they were unique. The cursed prince reached out to her cheek, wondering whether she would have cat-like eyes or something. His cold index finger slowly slid up and grazed her eyelashes.
He honestly just wanted to open her eyes and look at them, but Hu Zi was distracted and thinking of other things. She insisted on keeping her eyes shut, making a frown when he poked the corner of them.
Hu Zi was very stiff like a dead log. She was not sure why, but she could sense a maturity in the curved prince's aura.
Thinking that he might know why the girl was so stiff, he silently chuckled to little.
He had a crafty smile as he lowered the veil again, then moved to take his clothes off. Hu Zi heard the sound of clothes being taken off, but she didn't move and kept her eyes shut.
