9 The First Kill (1/2)

Jay slowly bent down to put down his backpack and weapons, telling others to do the same. As he slowly got up, he put out a middle finger behind his back for Alex, Christian, and Elon to see.

The group immediately got what he meant, and knew that Jay was going to take action and might need some help distracting the guy, just like how they usually cooperate in the online world.

When playing PUBG in squad mode, clashing head-on increases the risk. Although the group Big D Brings Spring is confident in their abilities to aim, it would still risk dragging the battle on as enemies could be shot down but get revived if they have a teammate around, and there are usually a lot of covers to hide behind for the enemies to heal.

Then, the gunshot noises of the ongoing battle would soon attract nearby players, and on an open map, the group that was the predator to the people they were shooting at would very likely become the prey of other groups.

So, it was always a habit of the group to execute gameplays quickly, and usually, the next moment after seeing the decoy would be the moment the enemy gets taken down.

The last backpack was dropped rather than placed on the floor, the hostile bearded man unconsciously looked towards the direction of the bag drop as it made a sound.

At that instant, Jay quickly pushed up the gun barrel on his head with his left hand, pulling the butterfly knife out of his back pocket.

The knife danced in the air as Jay waved towards the hostile target. Unconsciously, he went for the guy's neck, cutting the aorta. The group watched in shock as the guy attempted to cover his neck as blood gushed out like a fountain.

Slowly, the bearded man leaned against the wall and dropped onto the floor, his eyes full of shock.

It was Jay's first time killing someone, as well as the group's first time witnessing something like this. The scene rendered everyone speechless for a moment, and Jay knew that he had to do this.

If he were to stop the knife at the man's neck, it would be very likely for him to become defensive and attempt to grab the knife to fight back. The situation could quickly get out of hand, and the man could've pulled the trigger on just the body's unconscious reflex to danger, and the shot would easily attract the wandering zombies near the area.

The group understood the situation very well, knowing that they would be in a very passive position if that big burly man were to get into close-range combat with Jay or press the trigger he had his hands on.

The group dropped onto the floor as well, still trying to collect what just happened. Jay's hands were trembling as his eyes stared at the dead guy in trance.

”Thank you guys...” A woman's soft voice broke the silence. From upstairs, a lady who seemed to be in her late 20s came down with her daughter.
