Chapter 157 - There Cant Be A Bride Without A Groom (1/2)

”Sister, what's that scary face so early in the morning?” Yanee asked teasingly as she and Tohru approached. ”You'll make Tohru think we have blood of a Doberman.”

Actually, Tohru thought of a Chihuahua instead since Ami was totally petite, seven inches shorter than Yanee, even if she was the elder sister. But of course he didn't say anything. She might be small but Tohru heard his sister-in-law could easily throw him to the ground with her martial arts.

”You're complaining?” Ami countered, and as expected, both Yanee and Tohru shook their heads.

No complaints.

Ami studied the two of them for a while before a smile broke from her face and she nodded.

”Good. Let's go find food. I'm hungry,” she announced and the two sighed in relief knowing Ami was just teasing them with her blackened face.

”Big sis, this is Tohru James,” Yanee shyly said as she pulled Tohru next to her as if to present her to her sibling. ”My… boyfriend.”

Ami looked at them knowingly but didn't tease them anymore seeing as Yanee was already red in embarrassment. She greeted Tohru normally and didn't ask a lot of questions about them. But Yanee and Tohru already knew that Ami had quizzed Chummy about them so she had nothing to ask them anymore, at least, on how they got together.

”How long have you been here?”Yanee asked as she handed Ami her wallet.

”Since four in the morning,” Ami answered and she explained how her staff had a traffic accident upon entering the venue's parking lot as they walked down the corridor.

A drunkard hit the staff's car as they entered the venue to set up for the party later. It was not a big accident, but one of them was old and she hit her head hard on the window. Aside from small injuries, she had a concussion so she's under observation. As for the drunk driver…

”The police took him away. I also let the others who got injured to rest for the day.”

”What about your event later?” Yanee asked worriedly.

”Do you need help?”Tohru asked, and Ami turned to him to study his face before shaking her head.

”I have a lot of people. I just called and asked the others to come instead.”

That's right. Ami Lee's a big name in the events industry and her Dream Theme events company had a lot of people. It was only normal for her to be prepared for anything that could happen. In spite of her looks, she was a very thorough businesswoman.

”Alright,” Tohru acknowledged and Ami grinned at him evilly.

”Don't worry. When I get into a real pinch, I won't stand on ceremony and be polite with the boss of Arcus Iris,” she added.

Tohru's eyes glinted in amusement at her words. He still hadn't told Yanee about his real status in the company and she still thought that he was just standing in for his father when he went on leave, but he didn't mind. He planned to tell Yanee everything later anyway.

On the other hand, Yanee rolled her eyes at the two. She was well aware of how her sister was. She's Little Ms. Independent since they were children. She wouldn't casually ask anyone for help. Even their father had to tearfully sulk that he was not needed by his children most especially the eldest. In short, Ami was just doing lip service to make the potato feel better.

”What do you want to eat?” Ami asked Yanee who just shrugged.

”Whatever that's easily available. Let's just go to the cafeteria here. It's weird to go out when you're in your pajamas,” Yanee said as she frowned at Ami's Hello Kitty getup and her slippers.

It seemed it was really a frantic morning as her sister who always looked immaculate while working forgot to change clothes and came there at the hospital without her wallet and in her sleepwear.

”You should have told me to bring you some clothes too,” Yanee added and Ami shrugged.

”I will be going back to the apartment after paying the hospital bill anyway,” she said as they reached the cafeteria.

All three of them ordered food and ate.

”Are you finally home this time?” Ami asked Yanee who nodded.

”I won't be going anywhere for the meantime. I will work on the notes available I have,” she said and Ami nodded.

”You seem so busy. Can you still spare time to help me at the expo? If not tell me now so I can arrange something else,” Ami asked.
