Chapter 510 - The charity dinner and her future life (1/2)
As the time was running out, Ryn quickly put on the makeup. She used the basic skill she learned from her jobs and from Mika. She used only natural colors and created a smoky look for her eyes.
Instead of gliding lipstick across her lips, she turned her attention to her hair. She made quick work of her long hair, gathering them and brushing them quickly. Then, she poured some hair serum onto her palm and ran it through her long hair. Then, she started to twist and turn her hair into a neat bun. She even used hairspray to put her hair in place and make sure they stay put the whole night.
Jeremy rested his head on his palms and watched as his girlfriend got ready quickly. He was a bit reluctant to go to the program. He preferred them to stay at home and enjoy their own activity which he knew would end in bed. Sigh. How could Ryn be so strong-willed? Shouldn't she be under his spell when he kissed and touched her like that? He knew she could feel the evidence of how much he wanted her. But it was as if she was blind. She did not even care.
How he wished she could change her mind and cancel the idea of attending the dinner.
Ryn was finally done while Jeremy was grumbling under his breath at her cruel treatment.
”I need a clutch,” she announced as she walked back to the wardrobe.
Again he followed behind. He was hoping she would change her mind when she saw how desperate he was.
It did not take long for her to choose. Despite she has quite a collection of clutches, purses, handbags, and bags courtesy of the brands and Mika, she just grabbed the one she always used and fit her phone and her small power bank perfectly. She was about to walk to the door when she noticed the jewelry box she left on the counter.
”Let me,” he offered and without waiting for her agreement, he stepped to the front and took the box. He opened it to reveal a set of diamond jewelry consisted of a necklace, a pair of earrings, and a ring. He quickly put the necklace around Ryn's neck from the back and admired it. He then turned so they could face each other and helped her with the earrings.
When it came to the ring, he could not help from grinning as he slid the ring to her finger.
”Soon you'll be wearing our engagement and then the wedding ring,” he announced loudly.
She blinked her eyes at the sudden remark. Then, she shook her head, treating it as a joke. They were just startinh back and he already thought of their wedding? It must be a joke.
She reached for the purse and put her phone inside. ”I need to grab the lipstick, powder, and power bank.”
And again he followed her like an obedient dog. If he has a tail, it would be wagging as he followed her behind.
”Why do you keep following me? You can just wait on the couch,” she asked but she was smiling so he knew she was not angry at him.
”I don't mind,” he shrugged. He was actually holding a shawl for her to put around her shoulders on the way to the dinner, just in case, she got cold in the car. He already gave up of her changing her mind. When she decided to put on the jewellery, he knew she was determined to go.
She refused to comment upon that. She checked the time and decided that they were on time. She let Jeremy wrap the shawl around her before both finally walked to his car.
”What's the dinner about? Do we need to prepare something for it?” she asked as he started the engine.
”No need, my love. It's just a simple charity dinner,” Jeremy said with a chuckle. He knew what was in her mind and already told Jacob to prepare everything. They only needed to come and smile at everyone.
”If you say so,” Ryn did not ask more. She closed her eyes and tried to keep calm. She knew afterward she still needed to plan for Mika's hen party. By tomorrow she needed to have the complete plan and if needed, to book the place.
But what should she do for the party? To think she was the only bridesmaid for the wedding already gave her huge responsibility although it seemed like she did nothing much as she was busy with work in order to block a few days off for Mika's wedding, and the parents did almost everything. It sometimes made her feel like a failure as a bridesmaid. Luckily, she would not be a bridesmaid again as Mika was her only female friend. She had no doubt that her buddies, the male friends would appoint her as their bridesmaid if they were to marry one day. They would give the choice to their future wife.
Hmm...
