The atmosphere around them lightened up as the two enjoyed their meal. Soon they began to chat about their daily life and reminiscing the old days.

Xue Yi Ming walked Lin Tian Yu to her sister's apartment and frowned when he arrived. ”This is where your sister lives?”

Lin Tian Yu nodded. ”The neighborhood is nice.”

”It doesn't look safe,” Xue Yi Ming pointed out. ”It's too dark, and there's not enough CCTV or security. How can your parents let your sister live here?”

Lin Tian Yu let out a chuckle. Of course. The first thing he was going to comment about the place was their security.

”Probably because my parents trust Mingyue that much,” Lin Tian Yu answered. ”Although the security here isn't as good as your place, it's pretty safe. At least the neighbor cared about each other.”

Xue Yi Ming sneered. ”Cared? Are you sure they were not busybody?”

Of course, he remembered how Yang Yun had told him the way the neighbors reacted when Huang Cheng came to look for trouble. Xue Yi Ming understood that they were worried about their safety as Huang Cheng and his men looked like thugs, but none of them considered to call the police. All they cared about was to record the event on their camera to send it online.

It was fortunate that when Xue Yi Ming heard about those videos online, he contacted a few of his friends and let them take down the video. Or else, the Lin's sister would be embarrassed when people would gossip about them.

Lin Tian Yu could only reply to him with a smile. ”It's late. I should go up and see whether my sister has come back.”

”I'll walk you to your door,” Xue Yi Ming announced. ”I don't feel assured until I see you walk through your door. If anything happens to you, I wouldn't know how to answer to your father.”

”Good,” Lin Tian Yu bowed her head. ”Thank you.”

Xue Yi Ming let out a sigh as he watched the girl turned around and headed upstairs. Then he went after her and kept his guard up. Once Lin Tian Yu arrived at the door, she took out the keys and unlocked the door.

”I have safely arrived,” she announced. She looked around the house and noticed that it was quiet and empty. Mingyue's slipper was arranged neatly at the side. ”It looks like my sister did not come back home.”

Xue Yi Ming felt the corner of his mouth twitched. If Lin Mingyue did not return, then does it mean that the girl was staying at his place? Then, should he go back home or sleep at the office?

”It's late,” Xue Yi Ming pointed out. ”Don't forget to lock your door and windows before you go to sleep.”

”Un,” Lin Tian Yu nodded. ”I know.”

”Then, I should go now,” Xue Yi Ming took a step back and turned around. His steps halted when he felt something tugging on his shirt. Xue Yi Ming turned around and saw Lin Tian Yu pinched at his shirt with her head hung low.

”What's wrong?” Xue Yi Ming asked.

Lin Tian Yu tightened her grip on his shirt as she heard his question. She bit her lips and hesitated. Although he did not say anything after that one question, Lin Tian Yu could feel Xue Yi Ming's gaze on her.

Xue Yi Ming watched her patiently. Her face had turned slightly red. He wondered if it was because Lin Tian Yu had been eating too much spicy crayfish or drank a bit too much.
