”Being kept?” Qin Haodong felt so awkward. He wondered if he really looked like a gigolo boy that much. He asked, ”How's that possible? I was too expensive for those women to keep.”
”Then tell me. Where does those money come from?”
Qin Haodong explained, ”I'm a doctor. Those money were paid by patients.”
”Save it. Grandpa has been a doctor for his whole life, and he has never made that much money.” Wang Rubing said with disbelief.
”Whatever you may think, just go back to your room. I'm going to sleep.”
”Hum. Nobody cares. Honey water's on the table.”
Wang Rubing said and left.
Qin Haodong gulped down the honey water on the table. He was comforted at once. He fell in the bed and slept away the whole day's tiredness.
When he was sleeping safe and sound the next morning. Zuo Lanzhi dragged him out of bed.
”What's this for? Grandma?” He asked.
Zuo Lanzhi said, ”Now get ready for the blind dates today.”
Till then Qin Haodong remembered that blind date thing. He asked reluctantly, ”Can we just not go, grandma?”
”Of course you can't, I've already made an appointment with the woman.”
”But isn't this a little early?” Qin Haodong said.
”Do you know what time is it now? Now eat your breakfast and be ready. You're the man and you can't be late. I see no bad getting there early.”
Qin Haodong knew he would never be able to hide away from this when he saw the seriousness in the old lady's eyes. He had no choice but go for it. After the breakfast, he left home with Zuo Lanzhi.
”Grandma, how many women did you arranged for me?” Qin Haodong asked.
”Zuo Lanzhi answered happily, ”Kid, you have to be careful when going to blind dates. Don't take too many in a day. I arranged three for you today. The one in the morning was introduced by Grandma Wang; the one at noon, by Grandma Li; the one in the afternoon, by Grandma Zhang.”
Qin Haodong felt embarrassed. It looked the old lady had arranged dates for him not only today, but also days after days in the future.
Soon they arrived at a cafe and was going to see the date introduced by Grandma Wang. Qin Haodong had seen her photo, it had been photoshopped, but generally speaking, she looked just fine.
Zuo Lanzhi asked Qin Haodong to wait inside. She sat on the across the cafe. Qin Haodong went speechless watching the grandma waiting outside. It looked like he would never be able to leave the cafe before he finished all the dates.
The time was set on 9: 00 a.m. Ten minutes later, the woman was still missed. Qin Haodong was so upset. At that time, his phone rang. He checked it and found a strange number.
He thought it was that woman; however, when he answered it, a man was speaking.
”Is that Qin Haodong, Mr. Qin?” He asked in a very polite tone.
”Yes, it's me. Who's that?” Qin Haodong asked.
”You may not know me, Mr. Qin. I'm Xu Jinkai from Jiangnan No.1 Housing Estate Company.”
Qin Haodong had heard about the company before. The two most well-known construction companies in Wufeng County, one was Hong Tianbao's Tianbao Construction Company, and the other one was Jiangnan No.1 Construction Company.
Tianbao Construction Company was famous because Hong Tianbao raked in exorbitant profits; on the contrary, Jiangnan No.1 was a legal construction company which earned its reputation with its nice construction quality.
Qin Haodong asked: ”Boss Xu, what can I do for you?”
Xu Jinkai said respectfully, ”Here's the thing, Mr. Qin. The renovation of the old street was handed over to us after Hong Tianbao was turned in. I was to discuss something about the relocation with you.”
Qin Haodong said to himself that those businessman moved really fast. Hong Tianbao was turned in yesterday, and now the new move had been made. He was bored anyway at this moment, so he sent over his address.
Xu Jinkai's was moving fast, indeed. In five minutes, a black Mercedes Benz pulled over in front of the cafe. A middle-aged man in his forties entered the cafe.
”Nice to meet you, Mr. Qin!”
Xu Jinkai sent his warmest greetings when he saw Qin Haodong. Then he reached out his right hand.
Qin Haodong shook his hand and said, ”Mr. Xu, what do you want to discuss with me?”
Xu Jinkai said, ”Your family house is involved in the renovation of the old street. I want to know the requirements for Mr. Qin's relocation.”
