Chapter 27 (2/2)
“Don’t be afraid. Blackie is a good boy.” Qin Hao had already told Blackie not to attack humans on the way back, and Blackie nodded its head obediently.
“But… But…” Lucia simply could not believe that humans and the Insectoids can coexist peacefully on Alpha.
“It’s okay!” Qin Hao touched Blackie’s head, and Blackie immediately squatted down, seemingly enjoying it.
“Qin Hao, you… get it to stay away from me. I’m scared…” Lucia was still a little worried.
“All right.” Qin Hao nodded. He got Blackie to lay on the ground as he walked over himself.
“Huh….” Lucia breathed a sigh of relief when Blackie did not continue to approach her.
“How’s the guy doing?” Qin Hao asked.
“It’s all external traumas. I’ve already dealt with them, but the rib fractures are a bit more troublesome, and he would not be able to move by himself for a while,” Lucia said with a frown.
“Sigh! He’s still a human, we can’t leave him behind…” Qin Hao sighed, he then reinforced the temporary stretcher and prepared to get Blackie to drag it. Although using Blackie as a stretcher puller was overkill, but the space on Blackie’s back was limited, and could only fit a person behind it. He could not just leave Lucia and that man behind.
“Qin Hao, do you have any plans?” Lucia was just a medic, and when her transport ship got shot down, she was terrified because she had no idea how to survive on this planet filled with insects.
However, after seeing Qin Hao, Lucia suddenly felt a sense of security. She believed this man would be able to take her back to the base safely like last time.
“Let’s head to Coales Valley first,” Qin Hao said.
“All right. Our original landing point was Coales Valley as well, but we were shot down by the Plasmaworm midway.” Lucia seemed to recall the despair she felt when the ship crashed, and her eyes were red again.
“All right, all right, don’t cry. We need to hurry up, there’s no guarantee the bugs won’t chase after us.” Qin Hao had affixed the stretcher, and his worry was not superfluous. The insectoids possess high intelligence, and after destroying the transport ship, they were likely to track and pursue.
“Okay!” Lucia wiped her tears and stood up. She was only slightly frightened, and some simple bruises, so it did not affect her mobility.
“Blackie, come here!” Qin Hao called Blackie over before placing the stretcher on it.
“Blackie, go slow. If there are any obstacles in front of you, clear them away,” Qin Hao said to Blackie.
Krik! Blackie called out, indicating that it understood Qin Hao’s intentions. It then dragged the stretcher and started to move forward. All of the obstacles before them like branches and rocks were all lifted away by its giant mandible. While the stretcher at the back was a little bumpy, it was not particularly violent.
Lucia was still a little afraid of Blackie, so Qin Hao walked beside Blackie and Lucia beside him. As long as this man stood before her, even if she was to face scary things again, she would not be that afraid.
