Chapter 73 - Home. (1/2)
”Where are we going next?” The Dorgon sounded excited as he asked.
”Home,” Hecathe responded as he yawned, ”That's it for today. I'm tired and I need to rest.”
”Eh?” The Dorgon was a bit taken back by this response, ”You're tired after just that?! How are you humans so weak?!”
”Aren't you glad I don't have enough energy to cook you?”
”...”
”Let's go back and you figure out a way to get out of there fast while I take a rest.”
”Huh? Get out of what?”
”The egg,” Hecathe responded without missing a beat.
”Do you think I'm in here because I want to?! I can't get out before properly hatching!” The Dorgon retorted.
”Then figure out a way to properly hatch.”
The Dorgon was speechless for a minute but it wasn't because he had nothing to say, rather it was because the Dorgon had a bit too much to say to that.
”You don't expect me to wait around for you to properly complete your incubation period, do you?” Hecathe questioned as he clicked his tongue.
”You're bullying me!” The Dorgon retorted and Hecathe chuckled in turn.
”Do you think I care?”
”...”
”By the time I wake up, if you're not out of that thing, I'm forcing you to come out.”
”You arrogant human, are you not even afraid of me?! This shell is the only thing keeping me from attacking you!”
Hecathe smirked as he heard those amusing words, ”You're wrong. The shell is not the thing keeping you from attacking me, it's the only thing keeping me from cooking you.”
”Master, I was just kidding,” The Dorgon chuckled awkwardly with a completely different, more polite tone.
”Well, in that case, we need to work on your sense of humor,” Hecathe stated with a sigh and the Dorgon was left cursing Hecathe in his mind.
Thankfully enough, Hecathe had made sure to memorize the way back to that apartment so after walking for at least more than fifteen minutes, he was able to see the apartment that looked nothing less than an abandoned old building that was near to being demolished.
”Master, aren't you supposed to be going back home? Why are you in this abandoned creepy place?” It was the first thing the Dorgon had asked as soon as they reached the apartment.
”This abandoned creepy place is going to be your home from now on,” Hecathe informed without any sense of hesitation.
The Dorgon gulped, ”Master, the more I think about it, the more I wonder...”
”Isn't wondering and thinking the same thing?” Hecathe asked with a frown but was ignored by the Dorgon that continued talking.
”How were you even able to afford saving me?! If you live in a place like this, even with all your savings combined, you would still not even have enough to feed me!”
Hecathe's eyebrows creased together as he heard this and he immediately asked, ”Do you eat a lot?”
