Chapter 184 - The Dorgons Adventure (1/2)
”We'll need to break the barrier somehow,” Hecathe spoke as he responded, ”Just a small opening in it would be more than enough to let the mutants infiltrate this place.”
The illusion barrier was not created in a day or two and the ones who had created it are probably not even alive anymore.
To break something that had been in existence for so long... It was certainly not going to be easy.
”It's impossible for a human to break it,” Hecathe sighed as he spoke and the Dorgon seemed to have understood the deeper meaning behind his words..
”You want me to break it, don't you?” The Dorgon asked in disbelief and Hecathe simply smiled as he nodded his head enthusiastically.
”You're the only one that can do it,” Hecathe commented as he looked at the Dorgon expectantly.
The Dorgon sighed as he shook his head, ”I don't like this idea but I'll help you since you saved this emperor's life.”
Hecathe smiled as he heard this and nodded his head in satisfaction as he spoke, ”I knew it was a good idea to save you.”
”That's probably the only reason that is stopping me from killing you,” The Dorgon responded with a sigh and Hecathe chuckled as he heard this.
Thankfully enough, Dorgons were not as heartless as everyone considered them to be. They were creatures that were honest to their feelings and would always repay someone who helped them.
That night, Hecathe slept at the empty abandoned building with the mutants keeping a watch for him and the Dorgon left to patrol the outskirts of the city.
In order to open a small hole in the barrier, he first needed to find an area that had the least amount of guards stationed around.
Because of the recent mutant attack that was caused by Hecathe, the guards stationed around had increased and it was quite difficult to find a weak spot anymore.
However, after flying in circles for twenty minutes or so, the Dorgon was finally able to find a place that looked to be a little less guarded.
The Dorgon landed on the ground and the three guards that were stationed at the place immediately got stunned by the presence of the creature.
”Don't take this personal,” The Dorgon spoke even though he knew that the men could not hear him.
In the very next minute, without even letting the guards get a chance to react, The Dorgon opened his mouth and smoke started coming out.
When the three guards took in the smoke, they immediately passed out and the Dorgon inhaled back all the smoke.
Now that he had immobilized the guards, the next step was to make a hole in the barrier.
This was going to be a bit tricky considering the fact that it was the first time the Dorgon was trying something like this.
But since he was inside the barrier and not outside it, things became a bit easier.
The Dorgon first tried to attack the barrier with fire but when that didn't seem to work, he tried to attack it with ice, however, that method also failed.
The barrier would certainly open up for a few seconds if he attacked it fiercely, however, the barrier would also heal itself just as soon and it was nothing more than a waste of the Dorgon's energy.
”I'm not even getting paid for this,” The Dorgon sighed as he commented to himself and tried to come up with a different method.
Perhaps breaking the barrier completely was much easier than making a hole in it since, in order to break it, he would just need to find the powering object of the barrier and break it.
Even Hecathe might not have been able to make a hole in this barrier
At this point, the Dorgon wondered if there was another way of making a gap without breaking the barrier.
The creature looked around helplessly and suddenly, an Idea seemed to have struck his mind.
A hole without a barrier... A rabbit hole!
At the end of the day, this hole was needed to let the mutants enter and those disgusting creatures only needed a hole as small as a rabbit hole in order to crawl in here.
With this sudden idea in mind, the Dorgon took a deep breath in and transformed itself into a small rabbit.
A transformation took a lot of energy and the Dorgon preferred to avoid it most of the time but at the moment, he felt like this was the fastest method.
