39 Late for dinner (1/2)
Before sitting around the table with everybody Sam was led around the house by Jin.
Finally Sam started to understand the height of the Li family's wealth, he guessed they were at least multi millionaires. From the outside he couldn't see how big their house was but from the inside he started to compare it with what he knew, it was at least as big as the venue in which they did the first round of the talent show and it was the biggest as contestants came from all around the country to participate, it could be imagined how big it was, the main building was surrounded by a big courtyard while they still had 2 buildings on the side.
After awhile he was led into the living room, what attracted his attention was the TV, it was attached to the wall and took at least half of it. He felt like going in a movie theater, he was bought to sit on the couch in front of it with Jin while his dad was sitting near them and browsing through his phone, the kids were playing somewhere while Annie and her mom were in the kitchen doing the last preparations for dinner.
« So tell me, when did you get the Porsche ? It's a Carrera 911 right ? »
« Yes it is, it's from 1997. I bought it when I was in Paris. »
« Really ? How much ? »
« I got it for 15000€. »
He felt bad for lying about this but Annie's dad was probably listening to their conversation and he didn't want to leave him a bad image of himself... Winning that car in a bet meant that he was a player and nobody liked players, at least he didn't.
« That's all ?! That's such a good deal ! Mind if I drive it ? »
« I don't mind, you want to do it now ? »
« Yeah let's go, dad tell mom we'll be back in less than 20 minutes. »
« Go ahead, don't speed to much on the road.»
« Don't worry I won't do anything stupid hahah.»
«Sam he's older than you but you can yell at him if he's going to fast, this kid isn't afraid of death it would seem.»
He was given the authorization to scold someone older than him by his dad but he didn't think he would do it, he himself didn't have had time to try out his new car, this was the perfect opportunity as police rarely came in this place as it wasn't in the city, add to that that it was night he probably won't have such a good opportunity so soon.
He followed Jin outside and arrived in front of the beautiful black car, it was parked right next to Jin's Nissan, both looked like sleeping beasts in the night, they were illuminated by the lamps in the courtyard only.
Sam grabbed the keys and threw them at Jin then went to sit on the passenger seat, Jin got in and turned it on.

In the end they had so much fun driving it that they came 30 minutes later... dinner was already on the table when they went inside the living room, madam Li looked at Jin and said
”Jin ! Dinner is cold now, why did you take so long ?”
”Hahah it's fine it's fine we can it eat cold, have you all eaten ?”
”No, we were waiting for you.”
Sam felt guilty for making them all wait, after all it wasn't only Jin that was late, he was also in fault, they were inviting him to dinner but he arrived late because he went to have fun with his car.
”I'm sorry madam Li, It's also my fault, we shouldn't have made you wait.”
Suddenly madam Li's voice wasn't as harsh as earlier and she said
”Don't worry Sam, it's not your fault. I know Jin and he must have forced you to stay longer ! by the way you don't have to call me madam Li, mama Li or aunt Li is good. Em is already used to calling me mama Li hahah !”
